Sven Vath appreciation thread

I love videos like this where he looks like he's teetering on the brink of being wacked. Extra lol's for the jazz hand gesture at 3:45 :0D

Sven vath has fast become my favourite figure in dance music.

The guy may not be the greatest dj in the world, but when you see him, it somehow just doesn't matter. The guy is a legend.

Don't know yet. a good few of us are going over tho.

Your right about the sound system, its immense. the clarity in sound is like nothing i've ever experienced, there is just so much power in the sound system and yet from what i can recall I could hold a decent conversation with someone in the middle of the dancefloor - not that i was doing a great deal of talking that night, richie hawtin doing a 7 hour set. Unreal..

Not really my style.

my favorite dj. i think his success is in his sound. almost every record he plays is of the highest quality classiest tune, he plays only the best tracks of the time. he is a great mixer, he just does it differently from how most mix. hes good at playing a long story in a long set.

heres something recent by him (5 hours!):

Sven Vath - Live @ Cocoric Riccione (Italy) 28-06-2008

always fun to see him, but as previously stated he really is not much of a dj. He is the good kind of trainwreck.

I dont know how Sven pulls those mixes in less than 30 seconds sometimes. Its very strange. I dont know what he's fundamentally doing different, all I know is that his blends dont flow the same way mine do.

Maybe I'm over analyzing it and he's just torqued out of his mind

I bought the Isolee - We are Monster 3x12" today for 13 bucks, sealed! When he plays Pillowtalk in his sounds of the 6th season it pwns my soul. That guitar...holy fck!!!!!!!!

I love the sets from Sven in 93-95, but I don't really like what he's doing now.. He was a beast back then though.

And I always kinda had this thing for Harlequin - The Beauty And The Beast.

With zest I can say he is my most favorite DJ. He is an artist and an entertainer in every sense and is always keeping electronica fresh and eventful for me. Ever since I heard his just sublime track Face It on a Dream Dance compilation I have learned so much more about electronica as a whole. Truly a living legend...

I loved "Face It", and have only heard one set by him (an essential mix from '06) which wasn't bad... don't know too much about this guy other than that, though.

Fucking legend, his sound changes often but i always liked it, he really is a giant artist, plus his club in Frankfurt, his nights inIbiza and his label are great.

Sven Vath is great!

I love his productions and remixes! Only heard a few of his sets, mostly the "Sound of the []Season" and I like them - haven't heard any live recordings actually...

Exactly what kind of music does he play? I'm trying to listen to a lot of different music nowadays and someone's given me a copy of The Harlequin, The Robot And The Ballet-Dancer. Any good?
