SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING: City of Toronto
Issued at 2:06 PM EDT SATURDAY 26 JULY 2008

AT 1:50 PM EDT. RADAR SHOW A LINE OF HEAVY THUNDERSTORMS EXTENDING FROM JUST EAST OF SIMCOE TO TORONTO TO HAMILTON TO SOUTHWEST OF LONDON MOVING EAST SOUTHEASTWARD ABOUT 50 KM/H. SOME OF THESE STORMS WILL PULSE UP TO REACH SEVERE LEVEL AT TIMES WITH LARGE HAIL UP TO 4 CENTIMETRES DIAMETER. DAMAGING WINDS UP TO 140 KM/H AND TORRENTIAL DOWNPOURS GIVING UP TO 50 MILLIMETRES IN 30 MINUTES. THIS DRIZZLE. THIS IS A WARNING THAT SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS ARE IMMINENT OR OCCURRING IN THESE REGIONS. REMEMBER SOME SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCE TORNADOES..LISTEN FOR UPDATED WARNINGS. EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT ONTARIO RECOMMENDS TAKING COVER IMMEDIATELY WHEN THREATENING WEATHER APPROACHES.
CONDITIONS ARE FAVOURABLE FOR SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS TO DEVELOP THIS AFTERNOON IN A WARM AND HUMID AIRMASS. MAIN THREATS ARE LARGE HAIL DAMAGING WIND AND TORRENTIAL DOWNPOURS.

Being on a tall ship from 12:30-5pm out in the open harbour was all kinds of interesting. Torrential rain, lightning and some freaking loud thunder too!

I had nickel and quarter size hail in Aurora. The storms came and went in the morning until mid-late afternoon when the sky turned blue.

lol. I was on that boat too - definitely one for the books! I got some vids and stuff to post up once I get around to it

Got some nice hail in pickering. FUCKIN EH .. mangled my car a bit. got 3 grand from insurance .. fixed the car with 600 bucks and bought wheels. hope we get more!!
