Mashups has it's place and time I guess. Once a month I go to an all mash-up party at revival it's called Shuffle Party. They do a bunch of crazy mash-ups if you're really into it.

I also buy a lot of mash-ups from Crooklyn Clan (http://www.crooklynclan.net/) You can listen to all the tracks there.

2 many Djs' as heard on radio soulwax pt.2 is the bomb. not entirely mashup throughout but also a lot of interesting mixes. the other 20 or so that they did are good or decent but that was next level. it inspired me to do some mashups back in the day, i'll try to send you a couple when my music computer is back from being fixed.

Those are pretty wicked. Hiphop/rnb with electro... not too bad.

The problem with mashups is that there is a world of amatuers spreading their homemade crap mashups that just spoil the select few good ones out there.

IMO Mark Ronson is da King of MASHUPS. Miki if you don't already have it look up Mark Ronson's January 2007 Essential Mix. That's what got me hooked.

Edit: Found a 5 minute Minimix he did for Annie Mac. The first 30 seconds are just too awesome:

exactly. Ive heard some really good mashups but there are a lot of bedroom djs on their serato getting gigs at the bars ruining it

+ fucking 1

so very irritating

but I will agree that there are SOME good ones out there. DJ Zebra - Come Closer (Nine Inch Nails - Closer vs. The Beatles - Come Together) comes to mind. They were alot more tolerable when they weren't considered their own genre or style, but instead just random remixes that popped up every now and again. It does my head in that there are djs that play nothing but mashups. I can appreciate djs that do the occasional mashup on the fly however. Angello/Ingrosso doing Pryda feat Julie McKnight - Diamond Muranyi for example.

Leon B. vs Kamaya Painters - Endless Ocean Wave (Leon B Mashup)
Andian vs. Fragma - Tocas Beautiful Things (Orange Project Collison Mashup Mix)
4 Strings vs Tiesto - Catch 10 Seconds (First State Mashup)
DJ Shah ft. Andrina Thorpe vs. Global Experience - Who Will Find Madras (Moonfire Mashup)

^ the last best mashups in the last few months or so.

xdr has a plethora of mashups under his belt, hes pretty godlike with it.
