Best Buy now selling DJ equipment

Trying to steal Guitar Center's business they are. Oh gawd here comes more POS Behringer, Stanton, Gemini, and Numark garbage to flood the market
that's pretty sweet. thanks for the share.
Yeah, saw that yesterday.
My buddy works there. I wonder what kind of discount they're gonna get, if anything?
There needs to be a major retailer that's an authorized Allen & Heath reseller. I want to try out some Xones before I decide to wholeheartedly purchase one.
Just fucking do it, Adam. You won't regret it, trust me.

If they can beat the price point of most equipment dealers, or at the very least offer competitive pricing, ability to demo gear, wider selection, guaranteed instock items...I'd buy from them.
They won't know squat about whatever, but if they can sell a new CDJ1000
for $1200, I'm sold.
didnt best buy have music departments a while back? it wasnt at every store...just a few.
i remember they had cheap guitars, cheap drums, and cheap dj and production gear.
but hey...guitar center is now selling tvs and shit
i know bestbuy has no interest financing for like 2-3 years, so if they start getting decent pioneer or a&H stuff i'm sold!
and they have 10-12% off coupons that might work

As a former BB employee back in undergrad, all I know is, their demo units will be torn to shreds.
lol, just have to do your research before going in. Doubt they'll hire anyone specifically for working that section, but you never know...they might.

Nice my brother works there and gets 10 percent off what the store buys the product for.

I normally buy all my gear from Muscians Friend anyway (no Guitar Centers here in the islands).
A word to the wise on Best Buy. If you return the item for ANY reason its a 15% restocking fee. So I would be very hopefull you dont buy something thats broke out of the box or it will get expensive in a hurry.
the restocking fee doesn't apply to all items usually car-audio equipment and GPS units

I seriously doubt they'll be selling any pro level equipment.
They couldn't move enough of them.

I went to Best Buy last night here in Minnesota (The one in Richfield, MN right next to the BB HQ's/Corporate Office). They did have a music area setup, but the DJ equipment so far was pretty lack-luster.
Though, I didn't expect them to be carrying the highest tier equipment, I would've hoped they atleast would've stocked Pioneer CDJ-200s and maybe some 1200's.
All they had at my store so far, was Numark, Stanton & Gemini Mixers & CD Players.
Suprisingly they had Torq in stock though.
What I was really hoping they would be stocking from the get go (though I didn't expect it) was DJ furniture (More specifically Laptop & CDJ Stands). I wasn't going to hold my breathe for that one, but it would have been a very nice suprise.
They were also stocking smaller studio monitors (M-Audio & Behringer), along with larger powered monitors as well.
Best Buy had the music area setup aimed more at the Guitarist & Drummer than the DJ (which is understandable). However, I would've have liked to have seen a little more attention then just a darker corner of the room dedicated to it.
All CDJ's & mixers were setup ready to be demo'd, so atleaset they were on the ball there.
In the end, I was somewhat dissapointed with the selection. Since they seem to be diving into a market head-first, with competition that's been in the game for a long time. I would've expected atleast somewhat higher end equipment to be on the shelves.
Hopefully with time their selection will increase.
Yeah, actually, the fact they carry Torq doesn't surprise me because they've carried other M-Audio stuff for a while now (keyboards, FastTrack, etc.)
