Unhappy This GA girl just felt her first LA earthquake!!

it was pretty scary!!! haven't felt one since i've been out here these last 6 years and around 11:40 am west coast time a 5.8 hit the chino hills area, which is about 45 miles east of LA. at first i thought it was just a big truck going down my street and then my whole apartment started shaking, things started rattling, i mean you could see the building move!!!! it was pretty scary. i just stood up and then didn't know what to do next. i was like, shit, i know what to do in a tornado, but not earthquake, lol!!!

damn, Alok just got out here and bam!!! 5.8 earthquake. i blame him
but seems most everyone and everything is ok. couldn't call out for about 45 minutes though, that sucked! oh well, just thought i'd share

stand under a doorway

We get them in Guatemala & El salvador where i lived all the time. They are kinda scary. I love that when one starts to happen, everyone looks at the cealing to see how bad its going to get to see if you bother moving or just staying.

I remember feeling the Georgia earthquake from about 3-4 years ago. Freakeh.

Earthquakes are awesome if nothing serious happens! Totally reminds you that the Earth isn't just a stagnant piece of dirt.

Glad you're okay, Sarah! lol @ Alok comment

I felt one in Wisconsin (epicenter was rural northern Illinois) about 4-5 years ago, but had no idea what it was when the building was shaking for a few seconds. I thought it was the 2 fat people in the apartment above us having sex in the living room!

Alok is such a whore.

I've spent about a month or so total in California, and never got a quake, but he gets one in like 2 weeks.

Apparently I slept through two small quakes (3ish) in Atlanta. Glad you're OK Sarah.

thanks scott and sam! yep, fine just a little shaken afterwards b/c i was like, i had no control over the whole thing and had no idea how long it would last or any idea how big it was gonna be!!! just freaky watching your walls and windows shake, rattle and roll a bit!!! lol

Hope you're alright

Sarah,
I am glad to hear that you are alright. I know how scary those things can be because I remember getting after shocks pretty regularly when I lived in San Diego. Anyway, how was your time in Ibiza? Send me a PM and tell me ALL about it!! Also, how's Joy? I never heard from her and there are some pretty good shows coming up not to mention the ones that have past since I left SD.

i can handle these small little earthquakes we get here but 5.8 would rattle me sooo freaking much! glad your okay and make sure you got that earthquake emergency box together just for safety measures

yeah I remember that one, I lived on the train line in Vinings at the time so I paid it no mind at all

Sorry for the late reply, but it was a pretty scary event-- not only because it was the first earthquake i've been in, but because I was on the 18th floor of my office building downtown. The building was literally swaying for roughly 30 seconds. Oh well, one more thing to scratch off the list.
