U2 - New Year's Day (Ferry Corsten remix) [on U2's remastered album War]
The U2 album War, originally released in 1983, can without a doubt be named as one of the most successful rock albums of all time. This week, a complete re-mastered edition of the album has been released through Universal Music. The album is now also available as an exclusive double CD format, which will include various unreleased b-sides, live recordings and remixes. Two of these remixes have been produced by DJ/ Producer Ferry Corsten.
Ferry Corsten, is one of the most renowned DJ/Producer in the world and has remixed various artists such as Public Enemy, Moby, Faithless, Duran Duran and Shiny Toy Guns. The worldwide known DJ/ Producer has been recognized with various awards such as Producer of the Year, Dance Star Award and the Silver Harp for his work as a producer and remixer.
In 1999 Ferry Corsten remixed the single New Years Day for Island Records - it was widely available on the club circuit leading up to the new millennium but has never been commercially released.
With the release of the WAR - Remastered album, Ferry Corstens remix of New Years Day will finally have an official release. Both remixes of Ferry Corstens New Years Day will be available this week at all shops.
Were very excited about the inclusion of Ferry Corstens remixes of New Years Day on U2s War Remastered album. He is a talented producer and one of the most famous DJs in the dance music industry to date. His remixes give an added value to this release. Says spokesman Rob Fleming of Universal Music.

I'm surprised that this one is finally gonna get released after all those years. Never really liked it though.
The versions on the album are Ferry's extended vocal mix (9:41) and extended radio edit (4:36) with the full vocals unlike the ~8 minute "dub mixes" and radio edit with varying vocal content on the unofficial cdrs out there.
Not really a fan of the full vocal mix either but Ferry did a decent job anyway and it's about time to get it released officially after a million bootleg vinyls with a bad quality mp3 based version.
Bought this deluxe edition 2cd last week tho.
i dunno if i've ever evend heard the full vocal mix, but i liked some of the dubs at least. gonna have to check this out for sure.
edit:
not gonna pay 25 for it though.
gotta check later on if it comes available as a download.
nice

not that they release much worth buying in other formats either.
