- is because i was supposed to play in the room where they play a bit harder and deeper house, but due to some blabla i was bumped up to the main room, and i said yes, even tho im not into that much commercial stuff..
Is funky sexy house even popular anymore? It was HUGE at the turn of the century, but ever since the trampy nu-electro 'doosh doosh RRRRRRIPPP-FARRTT doosh' variety got big, not so much.
spirit catcher
+1 to Spirit Catcher
Although it's harder to come by now, it's still available. Just play some light hearted Prog House as well, as that seems to mesh well with the funky stuff.
Don't be afraid to go back a couple years, as a lot of really good funky house wen't pretty far under the radar.
AN-2 is another artist I'd suggest you check out. Specifically their track 'Venus'.
+1 to An-2, "Road Through The Rain" is brilliant.
Here's one I really like:
Deelat - Wet Indiez
Jean Claude Ades - Someday
68 Beats - Replay The Night (Olav Basoski Rootz Dub)
