what's with the weird WMA format?
If you made it a normal MP3, I and a lot of other people would listen to it.
Downloading... Would you like me to comment mostly the tracklist and structure or the mixing itself?
I'm listening to it right now, I wouldn't mind a play list to go with it!
Here are my opinions of your transitions:
Intro: Doesn't start with a lengthy bass-beat-and-nothing-else track, good!
1. The bass dips in and out during this transition pretty noticably, though phasing and beatmatching were good. It sounds like the dips are not on purpose.
2. I like the fact that this transition is pretty long and the two track's instruments don't collide with each other. The 3rd track keeps up the energy built up in the 2nd track.
3. The bass on the 4th track overpowers the 3rd song. You may want to turn the bass eq down a touch and increase the gain to compensate.
4. The transition itself was quite good. The only complaint I have is that there is a long period of time where there is no chorus/melody outside of the bass beat and a couple other simple instruments. The bass is still pretty high for this track too compared to the first several tracks. Not a bad thing in a club, but for a cd mix, I'd turn the bass down just a touch so I don't drown out the mid and high range.
5. Again, there is a long period of time that the bass dips then comes back full force after 84 beats. The dip and bring back of the bass is in phase, but if it was intensional, it should have been brought back after 32, 64, 128 beats (powers of 2) etc. Otherwise the transition was great
6. Again, the bass dipped noticably during the transition. Nice spin back too if that wasn't an effect that was already in the track!
7. There were some very nice effects in track 7, and if you did them, kudos! Very nicely done. The transition into the 8th track was your best so far. Nice 0 phasing (transition with 0 dead beats inbetween the fadeout of the last track with the fadein of the incoming track). No bass dip either.
8. Major tempo and pitch change right before the transition. It sounded like it was done on purpose to avoid a trainwreck. If it was done to correct the beatmatch, then nice recovery from a trainwreck, but I would have done it on the cue track when no one could listen to it. If it is your effect, then cool, but I didn't like it.
9. This transition was a long one too if I'm listening to it correctly. Nicely done, but the mid and trebble need to be turned up a bit. After the transition, the volume drop is considerable from other tracks. You'd be able to pick it out visually if you looked at the wave form.
10. There was a bass drop for one beat which I would guess was done on purpose. It really added to the transition, though there was a gradual bass drop that was similar to the other transitions. Overall, this transition was pretty great!
11. I really liked this track. This is probably my favorite in your set and I'd like to know what it is. The transition only involved a small bass drop, otherwise it was excellent.
12. This transition was good. There seemed like a section in the begining where you were having trouble beatmathcing, but either it was a funky part of the song, an effect or you corrected your mistake very quickly!
13. I didn't like track 13 at all. It didn't really fit in with the rest of the tracks in your set. The transition had a small bass drop in it, but it sounded good to me. The bass on the incoming track is a little heavy from the last track and I noticed a volume increase shortly after the transition at 49min 42sec.
14. Nicely done effects, though again, I didn't like the track itself. There were some funky things going on with the bass, though it didn't sound bad! The transition goes from a heavy track to a very light track with a piano and no bass beat!
winamp just crashed on me and I'll post before I loose all this text!
10.
15. I didn't like this transition. I could hear the incoming track with no bass when the live track was in its piano chorus. I wouldn't have brought it in until just after that point (4 beats after the bass returned). The 15th track took a lot of energy away from your set too. It's too light to be in the second to last position. The last track is pretty nice though! I like that one a lot to.
In general, I think you need to not lower your low eq as much on the live track when you bring your cue track into the transition. And keep your incoming track bass eq normal, or slightly low if it is a very bassy song. I used to lower the bass eq too much too, and that is how I fixed it.
The ending just fades out in the middle of the track. Try to find a track that has a great ending, just like you found a track that has a great intro for your fist one!
Anyway, don't think I am being too critical, your mix was very decent to good. There were technical flaws, but if I wasn't a DJ, I wouldn't notice most of them anyway! Tell me if my comments helped out!

im DL now, looking forward to hear this great tracklist. ill leave my opinion sinc eive been spinning for 1 year.
This is just my opinion.. i'll follow DJ Flesch's structure
1-2: Between 1 and 2, i notice you dropped the first song out kinda abrupt. You had it matched pretty good w/ some slight drifts, then around 4:08-4:10, the first song kinda just disappeared.
2-3: very nice transition. nice work in keeping the tempo fast and i felt no sudden pauses or anything. The way you just mixed it is similar to Tiesto's Innercity '99 when he mixed out of Kamaya Painters - Endless Wave.
3-4: the bass kinda overpowers the previous song. you need to work out your volume/bass levels if u want to do a CD mix. But overall nice transition
4-5: Double bump of bass. Might want to start the incoming track at a different bass level. But a nice transition from Marco V
5-6: I like this transition. It's different from mixing out of a normal outro.
6-7: i'm not sure what that sound was. Were u trying to do a backspin or was that an effect or needle skipped? It kinda gave me a bad shiver to it. I like the end though where you took the track out thru the effects.
7-8: sounds like you have things kinda wrecked phrase/beat matching are off. If you were intentionally doing it, it was a nice attempt at building an anticipation but I just dont feel it (the anticipation was way too long).
8-9: long transition. the mid and volume need to be turned up slightly, but it's a nice transition
9-10: Tiesto's song fits well with the next song.
10-11: sudden bass drop. but overall nice transition
11-12: another nice transition.
12-13: ok this is kinda weird. 13 has this really hard shrieky sound that just doesnt fit with the rest of your set. The funkiness of it doesnt fit too well either. The change from a hard trance to this hard funky song i dont like too much. Sounds like you were trying to incorporate a funky/club house song which was a nice attempt but i just didnt feel it. it was kinda abrupt
13-14: from 13, it sounds like you're sticking to the progressive/techno-house flavor. It's a nice transition. I have no gripes with it. It was just when you introduced the last track where it kinda screwed up the tempo.
14-15: The transition kinda sounds like a radio mix. All of a sudden there was all this noise, then it died real fast. You also need to turn up the volume for track 15. It's significantly lower than the rest. Also, you're breaking off hard/techno-house into progressive melodic trance. You need to fill the gaps between those two with a semi/hard-progressive song and slowly go into the other genre.
15-16: kinda weird transition. I can hear Southern Sun playing in the background. You have a clash of melody and it sounds like you blasted the bass up to try to get out of the hole. Track 15 is somewhat a down to earth song that's semi depressing whereas Southern Sun is sort of uplifting. Transition from depressing to uplifting with no gaps is kinda abrupt. You need at least 1 filler song to slowly change pace.
Conclusion: The above is just personal opinion. I like your set alot, it sounds great. The tracklist is good. You have a few technical flaws (recording levels/transitions). You know how to beatmatch, and you can phrasematch. But you need to pick out the order of your songs more. Trance is not like hip hop where you can introduce contrasting elements right next to each other. You should try to kinda move ppl to the next element slowly as how Tiesto would call it a Magik Journey. But overall nice set. I'm sure if this was in a club atmosphere, most ppl would not really notice it.
I'm not going to go into full detail, and sorry to bring back a dead/old thread, but I'd like to comment.
Your mixing reminds me of me in my first two weeks or so of DJing.
You need to watch your timing and listen to a LOT of livesets to hear when you should bring in/take out a song. And wrapping Simulated with Viola and Airwaves? It just didn't sound kosher to me. Some of your mixes were pretty good, some straid. Just try not touching the platter so much...go straight for the pitch control.
Hope I've helped some. Let us know when you get a new one up!
