Magdelayna - Strange World
Alrite guys...i started this the other day, first thing ive done in ages production wise, havnt touched Logic in about 5 months hehe - its a remake/cover of MIKE's classic 'Strange World' - still got loads of work to do it - stuff to add, levels to sort out etc.
Ive messed around with the main melody so it doesnt sound too much like the original, and obviously put my own style & mix of chilled/atmospheric/uplifting into it..
I might enter it into the bonzai comp which is going or just keep it for my sets hehe, see how it goes - have a listen and tell me what you think
Sample is on my player here : www.myspace.com/magdelayna
Adam

sound good on laptop speakers
keep it my fellow yorshireman
2nd strange world remix today
TBH fellas above , the red rose county is better
very good since you havent produced in ages , just like tupac is dead lol
again i think that a huge breakdown is in order for the remix
p.s listening to some of your other stuff on myspace and youve got a good thing going on
lovin it
ok cheers for the comments guys...
Adi : i was going for a more deeper, atmospheric & progressive version of the track, which i dont think has been really done before, but still keeping the energy & uplifting moments.
I'll finish it off in the next couple of days and see how it sounds

This sounds very professional, but doesn't have any distinctive element that really "grabs" me.
I listened to the other tracks on your MySpace and felt that way as well. They're well-produced and they have a nice vibe, but I didn't feel like there was anything that really made them stand out from all the other well-produced melodic trance tracks that have been coming out for the last ten years or so.
Ok cheers Bojingles, thats just my style as a producer, most of the stuff you hear on myspace, progressive trance with uplifting elements,i always try and get good melodies in my stuff first and foremost, thats very important to me, instead of concentrating on percs, bass etc. like some producers do - i like to take listeners on a journey through a track, its not really in-your-face catchy stuff hehe.
Ive got to say the myspace sound quality is terrible,it compresses everything, but its one of the easiest ways for people to click and listen to your track
