The Basement is back! Sunday Aug 10th, 5 am!

At the risk of being called a promoter (ewwwww), I couldn't resist in posting that I got official word The Basement is opening up again next weekend, Sunday August 10th, 5 am!

They're boasting renovations and a brand new sound system.

I hope Addy's opening! Can't wait to hear hear him ripping it up Sunday mornings again!!

Were the renovations the reason for it being closed?

Originally they closed it down to put in a sprinkler system to bring the place up to code in order to avoid the fire marshal's wrath..but then another party sparked up Sunday mornings (Aftermath, I think?). It wasn't the same thing as I was used to hitting up on Sunday mornings. I had pretty much lost hope in the original party coming back.

But now I hear the original crew is back with their original roster (Rudee, Paranoid Jack, El Duran, etc). I'm definitely looking forward to this!

I'm currently in a basement. It's August 4th at 4:12am.

Its been to damn long, i missed the Sun morning vibe the Basement had. So many great people dancing to great music. I loved playing to that crowd.

Finally! I wondered if that place would ever re-open, They are re-opening just in time... So we have somewhere to spend our Sunday morning's tearing up the dancefloor again... It closed just as it was starting to get good and now it sounds like it will be back and better then ever.

It's an afterhours that runs Sunday mornings 5 am - 5pm...i guess you could say it competes with zone during those hours; but since zone is open 24 hours, 4 am - 4 am, zone owns basement for operating time.
