Western Styreotyping

What I find sad is how the Western 'Democratic' country like USA sterotypes other forms of governance all around the world..

1. Communism: Look he is a fucking COMMUNIST!! Fucking Commie!! Thats soo bad! Yeah right, Russia, is sad!

2. Dictatorship: One evil man!! He rapes and kills his country men, he dosent care of his country nor its citizens! He is one fucking evil DICTATOR oprressing millions of his countrymen!! Yeah right, Saudie Arabai is under dictatorship.

3. Socialist: Most under-appreciated form of governance. China is what it is today.. and at what costs? Look they kill cats!!

4. Millitary Rule: OMG they rule the country cos they got guns!! Okay, but some countries and its people in Africa are lot less fucked up because they are lucky to have strong millitary rule and the strong protection that comes with it.

5. Democracy: Its the only solution!! Zimbabwe is fucked up because of democracy.

Actually, Zimbabwe is not f*cked up because of democracy. It's f*cked up because Mugabe won't allow democracy, but not even that. He is one of the worst leaders in the history of the world. If democracy were to run its course, he would no longer be in power. Mugabe is one of the last Strong Men of Africa. The tyrants which emerged out of African nationalism.

I know it's in vogue to be critical of the Zimbabwean political process, but the fact is that the people of Zimbabwe had a free, democratic choice: to elect Mugabe or to be gunned down pitilessly in the street by Mugabe's marauding henchmen. To suggest that this isn't "democracy" just because it doesn't fit into your narrow, "western democratic" tradition is to engage in exactly the sort of stereotyping that Kinezi was talking about.

I mean, maybe these people actually like being murdered for their political affiliation. Did you ever stop to think about that?

I wonder what would have happened if Zimbabwe was one of the top 10 oil producers. Might the Bush White House have invaded, we don't know..
