Viruses Hide Behind Facebook/MySpace Identity
Aug 5, 08 11:41 AM PDT

Social networking fans, beware! There is a virus going around that parades around as messages from your 'friends' from your MySpace or Facebook accounts, but in reality is an extremely destructive virus. Known as Win32.Koobecaf.a, it sends malicious content to MySpace users, while Facebook fans will have to contend with a variant known as Win32.Koobecaf.b. Be on your guard always, put on your thinking cap before you click on just about any link, and do keep your computer updated with the latest anti-virus software (and definitions) always

So FB has been infiltrated by viruses now...I knew the time would come eventually since myspace has been plagued!

I saw this message today and thought it was legit for a split second then I saw the link when I dragged my cursor over it before clicking on it. Thank god I didn't!

Well, me. It was a message from Yvonne and I thought it was a birthday message so I didn't even read the title, I just clicked (lulled into a false sense of security on Facebook) and yep, for the first time EVER, I was taken in my a virus message.

Fuck.

Serves me right I know but I used to laugh at people that were click happy.

I got "sent" this from a close friend so again in my haste did not look it through and ended up advancing the worm to my friend list. My apologies to those who had it advanced through me.

I've legit virus scanned my entire structure and updated my FB profile just in case.
