Get VIP passes to Opening Night Party for Paul Oakenfold in Las Vegas!

Paul Oakenfolds DJ work is incredible. Has anyone here seen him perform live? Hes actually going to be stationed in Vegas for a year at the Palms. http://www.visitlasvegas.com is running a sweepstakes this summer that gets you tons of access to some of the hottest tickets in Vegas including VIP passes to the Opening Night Party welcoming Paul Oakenfold to the Perfecto at the Palms. It should be an amazing event (not too mention incredibly exclusive). Check out more information at http://www.visitlasvegas.com !
Ready, steady, go

I should dig up my old picture of his last residency here. I marked on my hand the number of trainwrecks in his 1.5 hour set. I think there were 2 mediocre transitions.

He is not good live.

I remember at coachella when he looked at the turntables all weird like they were causing his wrecks.

He was using CDs.

While I am sure everyone here on TA and around the world who enjoys EDM deeply respects Oakey and what he has done, his DJ work has been far from incredible.

That's not to say he hasn't done a lot of amazing sets and mixes (just abotu all in the 90s), but that was largely because of the programming and other things, which are certainly a big part of DJing. His mixing skills have never been that stellar and as the music has changed over the last 6-8 years, a lot of those DJs who could get away with not being great at mixing a really sticking out in a negative way. Oakey is one of them.
