unfortunately the stuff i have at home is a bit old..although the speakers are great the rest of the stuff was made in britain many years ago. Im not gettin a clear sound out of it...its all scratchy and low and I can only attribute that to the amp...unless you know what else it could be.

Get KRK Rokits instead?

yea dude get some rp6's or something, they give u some clean sound. Bang for buck man. If you need some bass just toss in their 10. All powered, no need for amps

I have no idea what direction you want to go, but I've heard good things about QSC amps.

another vote for the krk rp series. i currently have the rp5s with the rp10 sub...sounds great

if you really dont care though...just get some cheapie home stereo system...they get the job done. i used to spin on some $80 rca home stereo setup with a whopping 80 watts...lol

Hell if you really wanna go cheap take a trip up to Best Buy and get some amplified speakers or one of the logitech speaker sets they have and just use that.

They put out pleanty of sound for a bedroom setup and can play loud enough to deafen you over long periods.

I have my setup ran so i have small powered monitors if im just using the bedroom or i have it split to run out to my living room sound system.

Not to mention if you ever get asked to spin a house party and you have one of the upper shelf logitech speaker systems you can bring those and pound the whole house out and not have to worry very much about anyone screwing them up.

I have also heard good things about QSC amps. I also noticed that some professional DJs are using these as well in their own home studio.

QSC has made good amps for a long time.. Many PA systems run QSC amps.. Seen them at many venues.

I have no idea why you guyz always recommand monitor speakers (krk's) primarily designed for producers to make music because of their flat sound, versus good amp+speakers.

I compared the KRKs to my current denon amp + boston speakers and the latter is so much better than the KRKs which fall...flat.

Mainly because if your mix sounds good on monitors, it will sound good on just about any consumer audio setup.. atleast as good as consumer audio gets.

Most of us assume the goal is to build a setup to produce mixes with. If the goal is simply playback, the rules change a bit.. Then it's all about 2-way PA speakers
