Read This! COR: Learn Me A Book Thread

Well, I have been wanting to get into some philosophy and although it doesn't exactly fall into that category PKC's recommendation of "God is Not Great - Christopher Hawkins" has caught my eye.

Well, what's good? why is it good? etc.
(doesn't strictly have to be a book, any literature is good)
Maybe this should be the COR literature thread...

Bonus points if it's philosophy related.

On Liberty by John Stuart Mill

No quick synopsis could make justice to the greatness of this book, but it is probably the most underrated ever. Written by J.S. Mill, one of the most important philosophers of the English speaking world, is a simple and profound treatise on individual liberty (be it political or moral). The ideas contained in the book aren't complicated or difficult to grasp, and can be easily read by people that aren't acquainted with philosophy.

It's in the public domain, and there's some info on wikipedia in case you want to know more about this book

Sorry. I realise now, you just said that you were reading it.
I have become very interested but at the same time very cautious of these atheist books because it seems some of the writters are just overly passionate religion bashers. Let me know how the book goes when you finish it.

I read the wikipedia article On Liberty and it looks like it is definitely worth reading. And I can start reading it online right away.
Thanks for that.
