How much does fabric cost? How much is tailoring?

I'm looking to get 4-6 yards of cotton or polyester/cotton blend. Also looking to get some tailoring done to it, possibly hemming and a little bit of cutting or pinning.

Anybody know what price range I'd be looking at?

1 Brazilian, at least.

I was shopping for wedding dress fabric because my dress is going to be custom made but that's probably not very relevant to what you are looking for.

I didn't realize fabric was so fuckin expensive. The better the quality the more you pay quite obviously but I found some spots in Corona and Jackson Heights that have a great selection and low prices but no one speaks any english there so its a little difficult to explain what you want if you don't bring a translator. I speak basic spanish but not enough to request anything complex.

You probably don't want to travel all the way to Queens for the fabric but I can give you the address if you'd like.

i paid $30 to shorten the sleaves of my shirt....
yeah i thought that was too much but i was already there so feck it.

about spanish, i can help.

Estoy buscando (algodon color azul marino.)

I am looking for navy blue cotton.

( ) can be replace for whatever you are looking for.

Necesito (tres yardas.) Cuanto por yarda?
I need three yards. How much per yard?

that should be about it. Most Hispanic people in NYC understand some English. Just talk to them slowly and enunciate. Just cause they don't answer you in English doesn't mean they don't understand. They are still apprehensive about speaking it i've noticed. so ya, good luck.

Seriously Sam, Sheila does wardrobe stuff for movies and TV. I'll see if She can set you up with one of her contacts. Send Her a PM being more specific.

I'm making a toga for a party this Friday (yea yea I know toga parties are clich, but i wanna do it right.)

Thanks for the offer Steven, but it's a really simple thing, basically a piece of cloth cut into a semi-circle and hemmed up with a trim. Nothing in=depth.

Party might actually be canceled, so might not need it after all. Waiting for confirmation.

and yes, Grazi this is samuella.
