Add Born Slippy to the list of shít uncited remixes/covers making the rounds.

#1 at Beatport right now. Bog standard "progressive house" - which is a nice way of saying totally fucking generic tech-gressive that sounds like just about every other bad record we've heard for about the last three years.

Is it me, or does this seem to be happening more often now than before?

I know stuff like this has been released for years - but at least when we just had vinyl it was relegated to shitty bootleg vinyl pressings.

Fuck I can't believe people play this shit, let alone actually pay money for it...

The thing that bothers me the most is these twats not giving any credit to the original artists.

It's just as bad as Scooter, DJ Mystic, etc...

What's up with these re-hash of classic tunes..chime, children, born slippy... there's also a yeke yeke and rock to the beat remix in the top 20 now and don't forget the Deadmau5 remix of Cafe Del Mar....

Wow. Thank God I've been blindsided by the amount of GOOD music being released right now and haven't had to endure almost any of those.

That Children remake is probably the most guido tune I've ever heard in my entire life.

Michael Woods' 2008 mix of Cafe Del Mar under the Out Of Office guise comes very close IMO.

That thread should have been created already 1 year ago, since that crappy DJ Joe K version was released back then

It's #1 today, and I was looking for shitty remixes of classic tracks a year ago about as hard as I am now.

Terrific addition to the thread though. You are just spectacular.

These talentless hacks don't have any ideas of their own so they decide to cash in on remaking the big anthems.

Who needs credibility or talent, eh?

In this case, definitely.

So I read that Mark Spitz is pretty upset that "no one invited him" to the Olympics this year. Phelps is about to beat his record for number of gold medals won at a single game and he's getting all butthurt. Funneh.

/totally related

I saw the remix two days ago at the Beatport charts and was like "WTF?". The remix is crap, but it's not that bad as I expected.

Pointless nevertheless

I hear the Wrecked Machines version as psytrance parties every now and then. I'm rather tired of it.

Phelps should have grown the Spitzstache before the games to complete the slap in the face

As a complete, utter and total whore of everything and anything Underworld, I really, really, really want to kick Joe K & Beto Dias in the balls. Absolute wankshit.

It really does seem like the proportion of talentless hacks within dance music has been increasing over the past ten years or so.

Much like the upswing in weird and despicable news reports, it has a lot more to do with the communication medium and increased media penetration. But there is another side to this: we view the past through a filtered lens. The artists we remember are almost always the good ones; those who made music to last. All the copycats and hacks from back in the day are overlooked... so it just seems like the average quality of a release was better back then. I don't really think that is necessarily the case.
