Don't worry i'm not asking anyone how to record on ableton i've got that sorted but i need some advice on firstly changing the file recorded into an mp3 file from the wav file produced by ableton... secondly how do i get the size of the file down to a 128 bit rate so the file can be easily uploaded onto sites like megaupload and zshare????

Any advice would be much apprieciated....

You're probably outputting a wave file from Ableton right now, maybe Aiff depending on what you're using. Take that file and open it in something like Soundforge (I use Audacity because it is free). Highlight the entire file using edit then select all and then go to file then to export as mp3. That should do it. Let us know if you need any more explanation.

I'd reccomend downloading Audacity and the LAME plugins for mp3 conversion since you can get them quickly and for free.

Yeah i know mate. thats why i asked the question if you read it. i did a program to transfer a wave file exported from ableton into an MP3 file so i can load it up on the internet... any suggestions?
