Grado headphones

Has anyone used these before? I've reading up on them and I'm fuzzy on whether they will isolate sound enough to be useful when playing on a big system where isolation is pretty crucial as a result of phasing etc.

From the looks of it, I wouldn't trust these in a club environment - I'd stick to the usual suspects!

Serious noise bleed both incoming & outgoing. A friend of mine uses them, and he's even given up on travelling with them.

Great for home use, but that's about it.

Thanks Jer. That was my first instinct as well... I've just heard they have stellar sound.

No worries. I'm hardly an expert on the subject, but I'd imagine in a club atmosphere the focus would shift from sound quality to isolation and accuracy, so my picks are the Sony MDRv700 and Technics RP1200.

Technics are discontinued.

You're right; you're hardly an expert.

It's widely understood that the 1200s are discontinued, simply sub in 1210 in your head and everyone's happy.

you want something cool looking get the Pioneer HDJ-1000 but they're pretty heavy compared to other cans.
