Satellite Radio and EDM

have been looking at picking up satellite radio, the question is sirius or XM, who has the better edm stations.. my girlfriend has sirius and at times there are some good tunes on area 33 but nothing that blows up my skirt .....last rental car I had gave free XM and from what I can remember there was some cool D&B shows at like 4am and thats about it... so witch has the better EDM ...

p.s I am more of a house kid ...

They're merging so in essence it doesn't really matter.

I still don't understand the appeal of satellite radio for music.

they both suck for edm, unless your a big BPM TV fan and like cheese

i have XM, and ill never go back to free air radio, the convenience for me is that i drive alot for work and im travelling to the boondocks in northern ontario where regular radio stations dont exist. i can listen to my xm wherever i want.

Neither are very good, but XM is better.

The merger has gotten regulatory approval, so wait about 3-4 months if you can. The technology will be fully in place to be able to get packages from both services on the same units. (assuming you purchase the unit once that happens)

so does that mean if one currently has say an xm receiver, after the merger is complete they would be stuck with only the xm stations? unless they buy a new xm/sirius receiver?

i'm just wondering because i'm interested in satellite radio as well. i have a habit of being lazy and leaving the same cd playing and after so long i end up hating every single song on the cd and that's when i change it to a new one.

They have been very vague on the potential for older units to support the channels from the (former) competitor, but they LEAD us to believe that you can get a limited number of channels. I honestly don't think this will be the case. I think it will be limited to the units at most 1yr old and the current and future hybrid units.

From what Ive heard, you would have to buy a new reciver. Also Ive heard that they may have customized programing packages from both companys. This would be nice because there are a lot of stations that I never listen to. The System (channel 82) is pretty good. BPM is rarely good. I havnt had a chance to check out Sirus' stations, but Im pretty sure that they are similar.

Sirius's Edm is shit. However they have a jam band station with a jamtronica show as they call it but there is a lot of ambient and psy on there some really good stuff like shpongle on their.
