FireFox 3 problem

randomly today my back button has stopped working. By this I mean that when i click on a link, it is greyed out and unable to go back a page, and right click/back is unavailable too. Any idea what might be causing it ?

edit - fixed to avoid Snail/RJTisms

This is the only thing i can think of. Not sure how this could have been changed in the first place.

Open a new tab ane type about:config in the url box

in the "Filter:" box, type browser.sessionhistory

Check the value for "browser.sessionhistory.max_entries" and make sure it's around 50 or so.

cheers, it's set to 50. On the filter coming up, this one is also there

browser.sessionhistory.max_total_viewers;-1

if it's anything to do with it ?

I would recreate your profile and see if that fixes it,

You can open the secret profile manager by adding in -p in the shortcut's target.

I.e,

"C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -p

Or run that command from a dos prompt.

cheers. I've done that and created a new profile. Unfortunately my backup of bookmarks has failed, but i had one from a few weeks ago so i've not lost all of them. Will see if this solves the problem now, so thanks
