Deadmau5 strikes again

saw this on t.nu....i don't know if it's true or not but it's deadmau5...so anything is expected

http://www.ableton.com/forum/viewto...der=asc&start=0

quote:
here's the story: i won a dj contest recently for a slot supporting a night in the uk with deadmau5 headlining. fantastic i thought and started preparing my set for the big night...until tonight when the manager of the club informs me that deadmau5's agent won't allow any other ableton set-up on the night, only cdj's. i ask him why a warm-up set sever hours before the main act will cause a problem and inform him the set-up will be tidied away before deadmau5 appears. but he won't budge, stating deadmau5 dosen't want anyone else using ableton when he performs! have you guys ever heard such bs before? now i'm forced to use cdj's or i can't play

I think he does this kind of shit as publicity stunts. Who does he think he is...Tiesto?

Posted by Frequency Frank on Aug-20-2008 13:53:

That sucks, but to be completely honest, unless that dude was planning to do some major trickery with Ableton, he should just suck it up and play CD's.

Posted by ReenTeenTeen on Aug-20-2008 14:08:

can i get that in super size?

Posted by danlaxx1 on Aug-20-2008 16:04:

That's one of the reasons why I refuse to listen to any of his music or go to any of his shows.

Posted by Sandman1130 on Aug-20-2008 16:09:

hahaha you should play everyone of his tracks that he has out. Would be funny as hell if you came out to open and played everything he was going play lol. Then when that jerk off gets on he looks like fool for playing the same shit over again lol

Werd. No matter how much I love his productions, I refuse to support the douche bag. You hear enough stories, from enough different people and they all can't be wrong.

Posted by Sandman1130 on Aug-20-2008 16:14:

so redic.. even worse that the club is allowing him to get away with doing that. They should be putting there foot down. All these clubs that let this guy act this way. Its bullshit.

Posted by Sandman1130 on Aug-20-2008 16:16:

I can almost garantee that if he tried this crap with made events, They would tell him to take a walk. They have already told one HUGE dj that hes never allowed back with made events ever again after the 08 WMC lol man what a funny story that was lol

I know Hawtin's gig magically disappeared from their website after WMC....but don't know why

Posted by snatonsb on Aug-20-2008 16:23:

Deadmau5 blows live cheese act same tricks over and over again. His set goes no where. Sorry

Posted by Knox on Aug-20-2008 16:27:

exactly...the key is that he WON the priviledge to open for Deadmau5.

Deadmau5, his agent or anyone else probably doesn't know what the wank is going to do

Posted by ReenTeenTeen on Aug-20-2008 16:48:

here goes 20 pages of cheese.

supersize me.

he's an arrogant ass??
I can't standing anything he does anyhow. I've seen him twice, unimpressed both times. Toronto has way better talent then him and they deserve to be out there doing what he is doing.

Right, I mean people can still throw down a bad set on ableton, but you can't expect to have everything go your way when you're climbing the ladder.

Posted by DiegoParra32 on Aug-20-2008 18:15:

hahaha. what a fucking joke. Not only does he "produce"/remix shit music, but now he's a douche as well. Good job joel or whatever your name is on letting the fame get to your head. I hope this is all some stupid rumor and its not true, but if it is, I hope you fade away with all the other bandwagon, loop regurgitating non-talent ******s.

Posted by MeLLyMeL on Aug-20-2008 18:51:

I don't like that HIS OWN CONTRACT/RIDER affects other dj's.

I can understand a "no one on stage while he plays" or other small bull shit. But being nit picky about other dj's in the night is stupid.

You aren't the only Abelton dj out there. Get over it.

Posted by snatonsb on Aug-20-2008 19:34:

PVD using ableton>>>>>>> Deadmau5
