Because you didn't either?

Posted by Nicolas Oliver on Aug-21-2008 16:57:

Sorry bro

If you haven't tried already, you may be able to use a file recovery program to get back some of your recent data (even after formatting) unless the drive was physically damaged/files were overwritten.

Er... yes I did.

Terrible thing to happen but it is partly your fault for not backing up. Let this be a lesson and learn from it. It happened to me once upon a time, now i back up everything to several different locations regulary.

Well these days it's like a 99% safe assumption to make .

Airwalker shouldn't worry. He probably downloaded all stuff illegally anyway. Just download it again. I've lost all my project files of tracks I finished except for my most recent track. I don't mind much to be honest.

when you use a pc for making music only and not for surfing the web and typing reports and crap nothing happens. You don't get viruses from sample cd's.

Yeah, I've lost all my stuff a couple of times as well. In a way it's been a good thing because I've had to start from a completely blank page and have had nothing of my usual trickery/presets/old habits to fall back on. It's forced me to be more creative.

That is one ugly paragraph, makes my head hurt just reading it.

Posted by Alphadelta on Aug-21-2008 20:59:

Man... I feel your pain. It was the years of photos that hurt more than my 'early days' music. Nowadays Im a fairly secure Mac user with the wonderful Time Machine on hand should the worst happen... Tut..

I agree with this. It can/does help.

I believe the problem was somewhere between the chair and the computer...but with that I don't say I am not sorry about your loss , that sucks man...

Ow man! This really sucks. Sorry for your loss, may your files rest in peace!
This is the reason I don't have my music computer hooked on the internet.

Posted by Storyteller on Aug-22-2008 14:18:

I always have my music pc hooked on the internet . The internet is way too handy. No antivirus or anti spyware software installed either.

Some people just don't know how to use a pc right.
