Houston Area TXTA beach/park party...

This is the "hashing out details" thread.

1) picking a good weekend

suggestions on a weekend date where no major event (if possible) is going on the same day.

2) picking a venue
(beach or park)

3) volunteer DJs

My suggestions right off the bat

1) Sometime in October, (still warm enough down here to wear shorts but not SO hot you pass out after 2 beers)

2) Beach could be fun, but it's brutal on gear. However, there are alternative beaches other than galveston.

I come here first because the people here actually LIKE the genre I play and I dont have to put up with alot of BS first lol.

lol wow, i was just making a suggestion. There are about 10 people that post on TXTA. I was suggesting to take it to a more popular local forum to get a bigger party. Shit.

I know exactly what you were saying, there was no offense taken at all. I just know HBeats all too well. All I meant was that I'd like to come here to kick around ideas and get things solidified before taking it there where I would actually be promoting.

I like to think this board/section of a board is alot smaller, but alot more "like minded" than HBeats would be for this sort of suggestion.

in other words.

it's all good in the hood and I appreciate the good lookin out.

from personal experience, you wont find cleaning vinyl the day after a whole lot of fun. lol.

There are a few beaches in the houston area that are more "park-like" than sandy beaches.

ie. Sylvan beach in Laporte,
parts of Freeport
etc.

I think you guys should have a parade with floats and block off all of downtown Houston.

Well i dont care if its a huge turn out but a good turn out would be cool. i would rather have fewer people there that are enjoying them selves than a massive bitch party because of what music is being played and what not.


Matt im down to do this and i will help you with planning and all. I just dont have any money to really pitch in.


Now this is more what i want to do. Rent a party boat on lake conroe charge just enough that we will be able to pay for the boat and what fees come with it. this way there is no sand on hour equiptment were in the middle of the water so noise shouldnt matter 2 much and it wont take as much sound to make it loud. this is what i want to do. if your intrested i may be able to get a discount on the boat so just let me know

if you do it near freeport im down. Although i really dont know of any places in freeport that would be nice, with it being ghetto and all.
