Not when "Deep Impact" had just come out before it. Morgan Freeman is god - the only way Armageddon would have been decent is if it was the sequel to "Deep Impact" and was about Morgan Freeman trapping Aerosmith in a rocket and blasting them into the sun.

imo its not nearly as bad as Meet The Spartans.. At least Epic Movie had Captain Jack Swallows.

I can't really hate on low budget B-movies from the sixties, although I haven't seen that particular gem yet.
However I hate shitty Hollywood Blockbuster movies with a passion. If you have just a handful of dollars and some talentless friends then a piece of crap is the expected result. But now it was possible to produce something as god aweful as Transformers with the fortune it cost is utterly beyond me.

Watched this one late night while indulging in some fine horse tranquilizer, and it was so amazingly fucking bad that it went full circle and became absolutely fucking amazing.
