Sasha no show this past April...
...anyone else sorta really peeved about this? He USED to be my #1 favourite DJ, the one who got me into more underground house and trance but I'm still pretty irratated this guy didn't come to the Kool Haus with Digweed. I'm so disappointed that I haven't listened to his new production cd, and I'm NOT looking forward to Involver 2 unless he comes back with Digweed to give Toronto a back2back show which they haven't done since like 2002. I don't even know how he's even playing these days as I haven't bothered to even check out any bootleg sets from this year.
Now the official story is that he forgot some importent travel docs before he could cross the border from the US to Canada, but I personally believe he didn't want to come since he already played last October. Apparently the tour manager did say that they were scheduled to play again in the fall together but I have to see it to believe it.
Anyone else feel the same way??
Wow...get over it. Someone's been riding the bitterbus too long. The fact that he was your favorite DJ and that you're refusing to listen to any of his productions or sets or go to any of his gigs unless he comes back with Digweed to play a back2back set as per your request is one of the most childish things I've ever heard.
I was extremely disappointed that he didn't show either (for whatever reason), but shit happens. People move on, and look at the positive things ahead. If you were a true fan, instead of complaining, you would go to him, not wait for him to come to you.
I can't be the only passenger on this bitterbus lol!
C'mon, I can't realistically drop everything at home and spend god knows what to where ever he's playing. I had been waiting since 2002 for those two to play together. I couldn't go then ( I was underage) so I was excited about this return...

i was kinda pissed that night that Sasha coulden't play but later on that night i forgot all about it once i was a couple hours deep into the vore-tex that Diggers was throwing down!!

I understand I could have went out of my way to see them perform together, but I feel like I shouldn't have to.
I didn't think Digweed really played that well, esepecially not for a venue as big as Kool Haus. He plays Grindhouse but only like 4 mins of it...I remember everyone going crazy when he started playing it, but he cut it short before the part in the song where those sirens really start going buck. I think that adds to my disappointment, but at least he manned up and played a solo set.
I get how it has been a while. I just got reminded of it when just seeing some news of Sasha's upcoming Involver 2 CD, and just realized how irratated I really was.
I might be speculating on why he couldn't come, but I did hear another well known TA on this board citing the "real" reason at the time of the event.

I hope nothing ever happens to you... where the support and understanding of your friends/fans is required.
Maybe if you had seen them else where you would know they are well worth the wait - no matter how long it takes.

I heard that Sasha actually died in a taxi cab accident on the way to Guv....they now have his twin brother taking over for him.

I will not hold a grudge because come hell or high water� I will see them play together� because as Shelley said.. it will be worth the wait... and I want it that bad, I will make it happen.

So you're saying that it's OKAY for Sasha to diss Toronto and we T.Dot'ers have to go to another city to see them play together? If we did that, then we're sending them a direct message that it's okay for Sasha to just do whatever they want to the fans here and let them down and spend extra time and money to see them play.

hey why dont we start bitching about why dave dresden didnt play with josh gabriel while they were together everytime josh was in town while every other country in the world got to see them play together....its over a year now since they havent been playing together and 5 years since their first appearance in TO...cmon...im really pissed...really really...ooooh someone get some cold water to cool me down
Well I personally believe there's a 50/50 chance they will come back in the fall together.
What adds to this all, is that I paid more for presale tix, and I came around midnight and I saw tix were lower at the front, and none of the guards said anything to me. I wasn't offered free passes like others or free drink tix, but I guess that's more of a Guvernment issue.
I will ride this bitterbus until the end!
