Obama: envies communism, scolds America
Down the spiral he goes....
| quote: |
| OBAMA: Everybody's watching what's going on in Beijing right now in the Olympics. Think about the amount of money that China has spent on infrastructure. Their ports, their train systems, their airports are all vastly superior to us now, which means if you're a corporation deciding where to do business, you're starting to think Beijing looks like a pretty good option. |
| quote: |
| The Chinese infrastructure that so enthralls Obama remains decades behind that of the US. What infrastructure China manages to build, however, gets its energy from oil and coal, not from wind and solar. China has become the highest emissions nation in the world and shows no sign of slowing itself down over concerns about anthropogenic climate change. In fact, the air in Beijing is so bad that outdoor Olympics events almost had to be moved. Meanwhile, the regime where Obama thinks the world would love to do business maintains itself through brutal oppression. China blocked access to the Internet for international journalists despite promising to allow full access to reporters for the Games. They arrested reporters covering peaceful protests. And these are the actions they took while trying to make themselves look good. If Obama wants us to build up American infrastructure, he can start by ending the flow of American wealth overseas for energy. Create hundreds of thousands of jobs by building the American energy infrastructure through drilling in the OCS, ANWR, and interior shale formations. Lower capital-gains tax rates to encourage more investment and generate more revenues (and jobs). America needs a President who can see past the facades. |
Obama is right. Multinationals are all salivating over the Chinese market. Where is he wrong?

Really scraping the bottom of the barrel on this one I'm afraid.

Where does Obama think huge corporations like Nike and Apple already are manufacturing their shit? And I'm a conservative first, not necessarily a Republican. Although, I will be voting Republican in Nov. |
Obama would make a great lawyer ... but a bad politician. It seems.
Our infrastructure is going to shit faster than you can say the word, and that is a fact.

Remind me who is bailing out corporations on Wall Street with tax payer money, spending more dollars on the military than all countries in the world combined, and running the highest governmental deficit in the history of this country (both Rep and Dem)... I'm waiting eagerly for your answer... |

| Originally posted by Krypton You are taking the point of view of the GOP. The party of small government, low taxes, a "humble foreign policy" <--Remember that?, this is the party which abandons its own age old principles. But still, it's the Dems are are the big bad evil government enlargers, etc. etc. Am I wrong? The Dems didn't take our government debt from $5 trillion to $9 trillion. The Dems did not initiate the largest increase in defense spending since world war II. So much for the party of small government... |
china isn't communist. its state capitalism.

| Originally posted by The17sss We've already been over this. I am just as disgusted with the GOP as you are with how they've abandoned their conservative principles. As big as the GOP made it now, which is out of hand, the Dems still want to make it bigger than that... that can't excite you if what the GOP did sickens you |

| Originally posted by Krypton So what you're really saying is eliminating MORE regulations, lowering taxes FURTHER, and continuing the disastrous economic and foreign policy trends of the last 7 years is BETTER than giving the Democrats a chance to turn the country around? I assume you make more than $250k a year. Are you shivering in your boots? |
Look the democrats are just terrible and republicans are the only way to roll. Isn't it obvious guys?
Where would we be now if Gore had been elected?
FUCKED!
TOTALLY FUCKED AYE!

I'm just saying if you hate the state of affairs with an expanded govt., regardless of the party, why would you want it to grow even larger, which is what would happen with a Dem. president? Aren't you getting a little taste of how the Democrat party will "turn things around" after the last 2 years of a new Dem. controlled congress doing absolutely fucking nothing and garnering the lowest approval rating in its history? Gas was $2.33 when they came in, saying they would immediately work on a policy to give relief at the pump |

| Originally posted by Krypton What can a democrat-controlled congress do when they barely hold the majority, and the president is radical conservative extremist who will veto anything that goes against his agenda. There is no way the Democrats could do anything like end the war in Iraq. Also, you can't blame Democrats for the high gas prices, because the current up-trend in gas prices began in 2003 when Mr. Bush decided to invade Iraq. This is 3 years before the Democrats gained control of the Congress. Also, the low approval rating of congress includes Republicans too! Democrats can't end the war, Republicans just suck. Hence, Congress is playing politics as usual. |

Sorry 17ss..but you are completely wrong about China. China is a totalitarian state yes...but they are communist in name only. The government does NOT control the means of production. In fact, I would say they are much, much more capitalist than we are in America today. They have abandoned most of their old socialist policies and now embrace free markets and private property rights. We have been moving in the opposite direction for the past few decades which is why we are stagnating while China is booming.
As for Obama, yeah he has some bad ideas...but both parties in America are moving away from the ideas of economic freedom so we are indeed f*cked either way.. But to claim the republicans are somehow better than the dems..when Bush has grown NON-defense spending at almost 3X the rate Clinton grew it...When the republican majority in congress passed the largest expansion of the welfare state since LBJ's war on poverty...and when the "conservative" party pushed us into a completely unnecessary $500 billion war...is just farking ridiculous.
