Keeping it simple...

Seriously, how hard is it to just leave things alone and keep things relativly stripped down instead of throwing in shitloads of percussion or a busy bassline?

I find it hard to leave space in the mix. Anyone else?

when i started i had this "problem" aswell. but it sounds so much better to have a less full track. and this days i try to keep things simple and i like it much more.

yes the striped down formats are good because you hear more and trying to fill out the gaps once key parts have been made can lead to over effecting your tracks. try and keep in mind when making a track what you want from it ie if its a big track then you need to find all the things you need first in order to build things up.

I too have this problem I have like 3 melodies going and think I know that needs a fucking arp! But then I make minimal sounding ones and I am like hmm its mssing something. Finding a balance I guess.
