Biggest Draw
Which DJ has the biggest drawing power in NYC? There are alot of good crowds that many djs get, however who would be the top 5 in order. Using data from previous events is probably a good way to go about figuring this out. My guess would be....
1 Tiesto - 07 Two back to back sold out concerts at Hammerstein and in 08 3 straight sold out nights at Webster Hall
2 PVD - The king of outdoor events in NYC, the Roseland Ballroom is also his home during the fall and winter.
3 Armin Van Burren - Getting too big to stay in a club, here comes the Roseland for him as well.
4 ATB - Was Pacha EVER that packed (besides an Armin night)
5 Ferry Corsten - Right behind ATB, but not quite as many people.

but seriously armin, pvd and tiesto draw the most. There are only so many guidos that can come out for boris and jp
Louie DeVito
Yea, if you're talking JUST in NYC then you're gonna get a different top 5 than best attended DJ's in general. I don't have a clue what the order would be, but Tiesto, JP, VC, PVD are obvious locks for the top 4 imo. There are plenty of guidos to support the JP VC contingency...lol

dj sammy by far!
Thanks for the replies! Frequency Frank, is New York that different from the rest of the world in terms of who is popular? JP and VC arent very popluar anywhere else? I know JP has been here in CT a few times and I have seen videos of half empty clubs.

. no mention of erick morillo who has people in pacha until god knows when. these two guys do it gig in and gig out and they play to a larger audience.

i mean, if you think about, the biggest draws would be the DJs who play the most in NYC and bring in the biggest revenues for clubs and promoters. right?
so who plays the most in new york. who brings in the most money and the most people
in no order, I'd have to guess van dyk, van buuren, boris, JP, and calderone. no? i guess morillo would have to be on there too.

Tiesto No one else can pack out Webster Hall 3 nights in a row
PVD Too big for clubs, packs out largest of nycs outdoor venues
AVB Again, too big for clubs alone
Sasha AND Digweed One alone isnt big enough
Tenaglia For the number of times that he plays in NYC vs the number of people he brings each time I wouldnt be surprised if he tops some of these guys over the course of the year.
as far as Borris, JP ect I have never been to one of their parties but they do fill up a room the same way/frequency as DT so they have to be in the running.
You do have to consider how often a dj plays in NYC too. Tiesto once in a blue moon of course will bring out tons of people.
