I wonder if any of the other parties have secret service protection..

Posted by Shakka on Aug-29-2008 19:30:

I want to know who in their right mind would even consider voting for McKinney.

Posted by Lira on Aug-29-2008 19:34:

Wow, there are other parties?

+1

Probably the same people that will vote for Cindy Sheehan against Nancy Pelosi.

Pretty much have to be to be elected in this country. Don't forget 40% of Bush's votes were Christian Right and they won't vote anyone who doesn't support Israel..

Only on TA does the Libertarian Party beat Republicans.

Amen to that. And I anxiously await your long-winded response in the other thread.

On a side note, you've been fairly quite lately--are you trying to create a tax credit?

If Krypton beats the Republicans, I will have new hope for this forum.

Obama's speech seen by 38 million viewers

NEW YORK (AP) Barack Obama's acceptance speech at the Democratic National Convention was seen by more than 38 million people.

Nielsen Media Research said more people watched Obama speak than watched the Olympics opening ceremony in Beijing, the final "American Idol" or the Academy Awards this year. Obama talked before a live audience of 80,000 people in Denver.

His TV audience nearly doubled the amount of people who watched John Kerry accept the Democratic nomination to run against President Bush four years ago. Kerry's speech was seen by just over 20 million people.

Obama's audience might be higher, since Nielsen didn't have an estimate for how many people watched Obama on PBS or C-SPAN Thursday night.

Obama-Biden, Mccain-Palin

This is a 4 corners war so that the media can obtain maximum exposure during this election season.

Outcomes in the short term:
Mccain-Palin win: 72 year old president, woman VP
OR
Obama-Biden win: African-American president, Very hardcore VP

Supposed outcomes in the long term:
Mccain-Palin win: Mccain is at or near the Average life-span of a male in the US, statistics win out and Mccain dies of a natural cause. The US has a new President that is a woman for the first time in history. Of which Hillary tried to accomplish mind you, and we all return to our citizen ways of being drones for the capitalist-good.

OR

Obama-Biden win: Many coups erupt nation-wide amongst supremacist groups and don't like the prospect of having an African-American ruling the country and they lobby or use violence to force an abdication of the Office of President of the United States from Obama, Biden becomes president. We all go back to our normal ways of drones for the capitalist-good.

OR

The eve of the elections or shortly before Bush carefully orchestrates a "Reich stag" and assumes marshal-law and hell on earth is unleashed.

I guess though only time will tell what happens and who the victors are at the end but this whole ruckus that has been happening as of late sickens me.

Despite how far-fetched this post is, I think we'd be better off with just one thread about this election (and one different thread for each candidate, can't be arsed to merge those ).

Threads merged into an official super doper thread

Who the hell is Ron Paul?

On a serious note - the real question is: who I WANT to win the elections, and who I THINK is going to win.

I want: Obama
I think: McCain

But, I think all main political candidates suck balls, so I vote for Krypton!

Posted by Krypton on Sep-01-2008 00:29:

WHo is ANON?

Posted by Lebezniatnikov on Sep-01-2008 00:33:

It means anonymous.

Posted by Krypton on Sep-01-2008 00:52:

Posted by Lebezniatnikov on Sep-01-2008 01:09:

I'd vote for Kofi.

Hehe. Just got done studying for my Boards. And strangely enough, hopefully we're working on a 1st house tax credit in the next month. Does that count?

Posted by Lebezniatnikov on Sep-01-2008 19:58:

I'm watching the GOP convention on CSPAN right now, and I haven't seen a single minority in attendance. Kind of striking (and obvious) given the images from the Democratic convention last week.
