Nerd!

We have a show here called "The Einstein Factor" where people can choose a specialised topic for their first 20 questions, before all three contestants compete over a mix of the three topics to see who will win, with a "brains trust" team against them.

Usually people have personal topics like "World War II", "Belgian Beer", "The Simpsons" or "Jeffrey Archer novels".

I was just watching some guy who's topic tonight is "World Of Warcraft". He's like 30 years old with a ponytail half way down his back, a cheesy arse velvet jacket and spotty skin.

Questions run along the lines of:

Host: What level must an elder mage...(gets cut off)
Geek: 27
Host: Correct

Host: The Elder Scrolls are said to be found in...(gets cut off)
Geek: The Blackwind Forest
Host: Correct

Host: A pantagonian fire spell can only be defea...(gets cut off)
Geek: A level 34 magic missile spell reaved with elven water
Host:...correct.

...and so on and so forth.

Let's just hope the geek doesn't start hyperventilating and pass out when he hits the lead.

COR version: The World of Warcraft player stereotype is COMPLETELY true.

I'm actually surprised he could choose WOW as his topic

Is the choice completely free?

Pretty much. I've seen some pretty weird categories.

I wouldn't dare to show my face in public after expressing knowledge of WoW on a TV show. Come to think of it, I wouldn't even dare to show my face in public if i was merely playing WoW.

lol at getting the first question wrong. What a tard.

I'm pretty sure that clip is from a different episode, after reading beat Blog's post I tuned in to tonights (the only advantage of 30 min timezones), and it was a different brains trust.

Tonights must have been some sort of final and that clip from an earlier heat episode.

I didn't actually get to see him on tonight, 2 minutes was enough for me to remind myself why I don't watch that show.

I'm not sure but the episode seems to be for download at http://www.abc.net.au/einsteinfactor/video/

Trying it out right now. Hope it's the right one, at least it shows WoW as a subject in the episode.

How did you dig that up?

I can't believe that kid is only 18! As I said, thought from his voice that he was around 30.

Funny thing is that in them questions posted here there isn't ONE glimpse of anything even remotely connected to World of Warcraft, lol
The clip posted is something different then.

The game being talked about in the starter post is morrowind:elder scrolls, not WoW.

Aaaand.. to defend the WoW geek base a bit, I've played WoW for about 8 months, wasn't a 24/7 player, and in that time you simply learn all the game mechanics and everything around it to a stage you can diddle them up in your sleep if neccessary, happens pretty naturally, ain't that much of geekness involved :P

You wouldn't have time to.

No, it's WoW. You're only saying that because you saw the words "Elder Scrolls". I thought the same at first but it's not. I've never once in Morrowing or Oblivion come across the Elder Scrolls. It's just a way to name the series and the tales told within them, not an actual item.

I just made that shit up, I don't actually know anything about the game.

I love the expression on his face when he answers incorrectly.

Wow, those were some fucking easy questions.

I've had guild trivia 10x harder(and my highest level is like 47). How can he not know the number of classes? What a retard? 9 is shouted out everywhere. I was expecting like how many pieces are there in teir 7 or something. Not fucking easy questions "what are the two factions" haha.

Blizzard said they were introducing a tinfoil hat on a certain april fools, but I don't believe it actually appeared ingame at all. So both the question asker and the contestant were actually wrong there. In fact, I'm not sure that question would actually count as lore anyway. The question makers totally fucked this one. I mean fuck I knew 3/4 of these answers when I was reading the website before playing the game.
