Technical .gif filetype saving question
Why is it that some of the animated images that people (I don't know where they originally come from) post are weird to save onto your computer? Like, what if you want to save an internet picture, in this case, a small animated smiley, and it's obviously a .gif, but it saves as a bmp? You can even right click the image, go to properties and go to the address of the image specified there, and even though the address itself indicates explicitely that it's a .gif, it still tries to defaultly save itself as a .bmp. Why is this?
This just seems to be a bug, i have had the same probs with jpg files, they try and save as bmp files. Try copying the link and opening it in a new window, that may work
But it can be annoying
i've never noticed that...
just rename it after you download it
Yeah, I know how to get around it and rename files and stuff, but I am still curious as to why it is happening at all...is it a security issue, so that images aren't easily downloaded on purpose? l8r...
