Hardware noob question

Recently i got my new Roland SH201 and got started playing away ,got used to the thing, then i got it in Fl to play midi from fl to the synth and it also controls midi in my softies.
At the moment it goes like this:-

computer--->FL studio--->Sh201--->headphones
All audio , passes through the synth even youtube etc

i want:-
Sh201-->FL studio--->computer--->headphones/speakers
But that wont work.

Ive come across that the usb dosnt carry audio but roland advertise that it does.

So instead of FL-->midi-->sh201-->headphones out of synth

I want FL-->midi-->sh201-->FL-->headphones out of computer soundcard

But overall i just dont know how to render audio in FL from the synth.

Its took me 8 months to understand sequencing and soft synths and it feels this is like going back to the beggining ,
so any advice on this problem will be helpfull

you don't render from the synth you record it while playing... your problem is that sound from the synth doesn't go back to the soundcard right? what sound card do you have?

Look into one of these:

FL-LATENCY->midi-LATENCY->sh201-LATENCY->FL-LATENCY->headphones

currently i have the standard OE soundcard with asio drivers

According to the specs, the sh201, does have a built in soundcard, it can send the audio and midi to your sequencer, as well a receive it.

That is because the source is sending the signal from FL to the synth (via USB) then out the synth's headphones.

This is just the reverse, of above. This should work, but there is no rendering as such. Set a track to record, and make sure the input is selected as the sh201, and it should recording the incoming signal. You will have to set FL to monitor from the record track, to hear it, unless you just monitor internally from the sh201.

The reason it's not working the way you want it is that I bet you are trying to send the final signal out from FL through your onboard soundcard (OE).

If you want to trigger the sh201 by midi and record the audio that produces than you will have to set it up to do so:

Set the midi track to send to the synth, then an audio trackto record with it's input as the synth.

Sorry but I don't use FL, but the signal flow follows this principle.
