Is she doing a vocal performance (as indicated by the "live") or is that a typo?

This event is confirmed on Barbara's myspace as her debut live performance. For those who don't know, Barbara has spent 2008 cutting back on touring and working on her first artist album. The album started off as any techno artist's album would - with the intention of making a series of DJ tracks.

When Barbara's father died, she took a month off from touring and started to write. Her writing became the basis of her new album, which will be mostly her vocals (she began working with a vocal trainer to do the album) and structured like a non-DJ album would, with "songs" instead of long, linear typical DJ "tracks."

Barbara has done 2 performances in Montreal, one at Igloofest and one at a design festival (both in Montreal) but this will be her first performance outside of her hometown. I think the album is to be released in October or November.

So as much as I hate hate hate TIL as a venue, this will be a really interesting and different night that I for one can't miss.

Dude, her set was one of the best @ demf last year.

Ffs all you whiners about "If she's singing I'm not showing." Just GO and enjoy yourself. It's NOT always about the dj, what you are USED to seeing from them, etc etc. A little change can be GOOD yes?

She's an artist trying something new. For all of the artists you bring in and ask Toronto to be open to, the least you could do is be a little open minded yourself.
