How do you open a combo lock?

I forgot the lock combo, anyone know how to open a pad lock like this...

I've got gold, silver, and foreign currency locked up for moving, but I forgot the code...

I might have to try that. First I'm trying a little math. If that doesnt worth I'll move on to the sham I guess...This is what I'm doing...

Well, the math gets me to 100 possible combinations. Going through 100 combos takes time. I'm going to try that sham.

LOL does it only go 1-3?

Oh, and:

That should do it.

It goes from 1-39. You find the last digit by pulling on the U-shaped thing and writing down all the numbers which it clicks at. You get 12 numbers. 7 of them are halves, like 11.5. You cross all of those out because they are decoys. Then you have 5 numbers left. 4 of those numbers will have the same digit. The 1 that is different is the 3rd number of the combination. Using this last number, you must divide 4 by the last digit to get a modulator number. Then you must find the 10 modulators equal to the modulator of the last digit. This 10 number list has in it the first digit to the combination. Using this list, you add 2 to each number. This second list has in it the second digit to the combination. Now, I must try all the possible combinations. Two 10 numbered lists, plus the last combo number equals 100 possible combos, and is too much work for my lazy self..

Oh. I was under the impression that, like most combination locks like the one you've shown above, you have to enter 3 correct numbers in succession to unlock it.

That would leave you with 39^3 possible combinations.

I don't know how all that modulator stuff works, so ... maybe I'm wrong here.

It just seems like 100 possible combinations for a 1-39 lock is really low.

Read the link he posted. There are that many combos but you can narrow it down to 100 using the above maths.

I'm too lazy to read links.
