The only problem is that I can't afford to spend more than $5000 for everything, excluding speakers, cause I already have them.

2 CDJ 200's with a simple pioneer DJM-400 mixer. this setup is perfect for someone who wants to learn how to dj at an affordable price.

You can even get CDJ-800s if you don't like the small platters and it's very similar to the ones they use in clubs (CDJ-1000) if that's your goal.

Or even get Technics 1200 vinyl turntables, they're more fun to play with and teaches you a lot more.

If your budget is $5000 than you could get 2 CDJ1000 and a Allen & Heath Zone 62. Add some monitors for $300-$400 and you're there!!!!

Or.....2 CDJ800 and a Zone 32 if you want to save money.....

Either way you'll be learning on indusrty standard equipment.

.....now do something no one else does (I don't think "bottomless Dj" is taken) and you'll be famous!!!!

As a beginner you can start with a Hercules MKII controller and NI Traktor. It's a nice unit for the price. Although it looks like a Toy it feels alright and the converter inside is actually pretty decent.

how much should one expect to pay for this setup???

also, can anyone recommend a store(s) in Toronto to purchase this equipment.

If your paying cash than go see Nav at Play de Record on Yonge St south of College.

If you need to finance than go to Long & McQuade on Bloor (west of Ossington)

I'm guessing because the question he asked is easily researchable online, not to mention he asked in the most vague way possible.

It's like me going on some sort of automotive forums and going, "HEY GUYS< I'M NEW TO DRIVING< WHAT CAR SHOULD I BUY??????" I'd get flamed. He deserves to too.
