So, it didn't work as advertised?
I haven't used it so couldn't say dude. Bought it about a month ago but haven't had time for any production so it breaks my heart that it is sitting there when someone else could make use of it
I've read some reviews about it and it seems most people where pleasently surprised by the results
. I would have loved to buy it if I had the money hehe.
Yeah the reviews seem good but unfortunately i cannot confirm it
I have it, love it, and my mixes sound better than they ever have. Especially the stereo imaging, since I have no acoustic treatment at the moment.(roommate who owns the house won't let me) But, overall its a great improvement as long as you take the measurements correctly with the mic.
Sorry have to say it, for the money you can buy shit loads of acoustic treatment which will have a far better result.
That may be true, but anyone can put acoustics everywhere without having the slightest clue to what they're doing. Including me. I know panels help, but I only have a marginal knowledge about what I am doing in such cases.
ARC a simple solution in a box. If you're not allowed (or dont want) to put acoustic panels on your walls this could be very interesting product to improve your monitoring. Of course it will not fix the problems within your room. But it will optimize the listening position and compensate where it's necessary and possible.
Either way, ARC can be a good thing to use with or without acoustic material in the room. There's almost always room for improvement. And if you don't like it, just take away the plugin from your master channel.
^^ I'd rather have my panels on the floor against the wall than this software, not to mention all you need to install a panel is couple of thin nails. And I wouldn't call ARC a simple solution, it is a simple plugin but it's not a solution to the problem.

As long as there's no severe nulls, I'd recon it'd be useful for me too.
But you can do it yourself:
1: Get the roomeq wizard from home theatre shack.
2: Have a linear response mic (or radio shack db meter) connected to your soundcard's input.
3: Calibrate the settings of the program.
4: Hold the mic (db meter) at ear level, at the exact sitting position.
5: Take a filter sweep from 50 - 18000hz, and look at the resulting curve.
This will give you an idea of how to apply your eq in cubase/logic/fl studio/Reason.
It won't be as accurate, but it should help you a lot. I used it to identify my trouble areas,
and to test the effect of the traps I made - helping me to place them as effective as possible.
