LOVEFEST Carpool?

Me and my fiance want to go but are car will not make it and gas is so damn expensive. I was wondering if anyone was looking to carpool up to S.F. We will chip in for gas and munchies.

Hopefully someone has room in their car. We live in Riverside right by UCR.
Thanks

Has anyone taken the CA shuttle bus? We're thinking of taking it so we can sleep, do whatever on the ride up there from Santa Monica.

If you both can wing it and have a whole days worth of travel time (total time) you can take Amtrak. $120 round trip ea. It is a 12hr trip each way.

At the current time I would agree but if they can't find a carpool the train price doesn't go up.

As I said, at this current time I would agree, but as it gets closer, this becomes false. If he were to buy tickets now he can go for under 100 if he chooses the right flight times.

If you are smart and leave monday instead of sunday, it is loads cheaper. But I also understand that not all can do that.

i did the LAX/SFO route and unfortunately the 21 day window for that $49 each way special is now closed. that would have been the best bet, but would have needed to book last wednesday.

worst case- you guys should consider renting a car from enterprise, you can get friday-monday for $56( 50% off weekend sale)

4 Days @ $ 16.08 USD
$ 64.32 USD
CUSTOMER FACILITY CHARGE $ 10.00 USD
Subtotal $ 74.32 USD
CA TOURISM FEE $ 1.61 USD
AIRPORT CONCESSION FEE $ 6.75 USD
SALES TAX $ 5.50 USD

* Total Estimated
Charges $ 88.18 USD

Looks a bit more than that, but still not bad...but remember they are trying to split the gas costs with others. I am sure they can hop on the metrolink to LA if one of the LA peeps can take them. That is only $12ea to get to LA.

Renting a car is a good deal if you don't mind driving.

$60 for a decent midsize car from enterprise like bigperf said is not bad, I always rent from them because they pick you up from your house and drop you back off (if needed)
