Sonar 8 - September 22

Sonar users, in case you haven't heard the news, Sonar 8 will be released September 22. The Producer Edition comes bundled with Dimension Pro and the new Amber module from True Pianos! The Cakewalk guys are being pretty hush about some of the new features, but they did indicate that a primary focus of this version was to address some of the long-standing issues and requests from its core users - you gotta a love a company like that (ahem, SBerg). Here are some of the new features:

- Beatscape Loop Instrument

- Dimension Pro

- TL-64 Tube Leveler

- TS-64 Transient Shaper

- True Pianos Amber Module

- Integrated synth Tracks

- Guitar Rig 3 LE

- Lower Latency - High Track Performance

- New Loop Explorer View For Audio & MIDI

- Channel Tools Plug-in

I'd never really considered Sonar before but over the past few days I've really been looking into and downloaded the demo.

It seems fantastic and the internal plugins are also good quality.

I'd be changing sequencer my Flstudio (Which I still Plan to retain)and the mixer in Sonar looks so much easier and more flexiable to work with. I would have defended fruity to the death but there is no mistaking they are very diffrent applications.

Do you have a source for the information ?

There's a lot more info on the Cakewalk forums, if you feel like some light reading, but most of it's just speculation, fan-boyishness, whining, etc. You know, the typical stuff you get when a new product is released.

I've noticed 22 September is when we can place advanced order and not the shipping date. Does anyone have any expirence as to how long after this cakewalk normally release the produt (eg are we talking weeks or months?).

Truley looks like a fantastic sequencer imo and I can't wait to purchse. Just come at the wrong time though (Warmverb & Tone 2 effects bundle/ Gladiator exp/ Spectrasonics omnisphere/ Nexus 2)

On a side note the box looks exacly like fl studio boxed version? Intentional?
