Vodka appreciation thread

Ok I'm going to parlay my post in the Alcohol thread from last week to focus just on vodka. Any of you TA's love it as much as I do? Any of you as picky as I am or do you go strait for a plastic bottle of Gilby's if the price is right?

There are so many fucking brands of vodka that seem to pop up, all with slick packaging when the product actually sucks. I don't buy into the Absolut/Grey Goose/Ciroc/Sky or whatever else rap artists might pimp.

For those who can relate, or actually give a shit, what are your thoughts and what is the best brand of vodka in your opinion?

i smash vodka because i hate the taste of alcohol and vodka is the easiest to drink.

personally, im a fan of absolut.

if you can find it, Leeds Vodka will put hair on your chest.

there's almost NO mention of it online whatsoever.

it's THAT bad.

Yeah that's the reason I grew to love it in the beginning... I couldn't stand the taste of other spirits and vodka mixed will with a lot of stuff. I've gotten more picky through the years though, and done away with the mixers except for a little club soda and a couple drops of lemon juice.

I appreciate. goose and juice is where it is at.

If I want to drink it straight on the rocks, im a fan of Belvedere, for any thing else, I'm big on Absolut, love to drink that shit on the rocks with just a little bit of cranberry juice.

Sounds scary...lol. There's a brand made in England called Blavod... it's a black vodka, and the color is infused by the tannins of some natural herb. It doesn't affect the taste at all, only the color, and is actually very high quality. It makes drinks look a lot more interesting

If any of you have the means, I recommend you try this:

You'll forget Absolut or the Goose ever existed.

i have never enjoyed the taste or smell of vodka. might as well be rubbing alcohol as far as i'm concerned, and yet it's what i always drank when i was a regular in south beach. i never put in any effort to try different drinks and see what i like because i generally do not like or appreciate the taste of any hard liquor. vodka/cran & vodka redbull were tolerable and popular so it's what i always ordered.

rum n coke is where it's at for me.

My vodka of choice. Not the greatest, but by far the best price/quality combination I've had.

Stoli + fresh lime juice + soda = win. So refreshing in the summer.

Captain Morgan and diet coke is where I turn if I go that route. But if you don't like the smell and taste, it's because you're drinking swill. The better the quality, the less smell and taste. Next time you're out, if you still like the cranberry mixer, order it with Hanger 1 and see if you change your mind. Stay away from the house vodka or the typical mass produced shee-ite.

I've still never had a Mojito. I meant to make some last summer, but never got around to it. Maybe this summer
