Hurricane Ike videos/pictures

Post your pics/vids here.

My camera was glued to my hand even when the wind was going through our house this morning at 6am. Our house suffered two blown windows, a few shingles, trees are gone and teh debris is wild.

Sunset in Katy before IKE

the dad is taping windows

few hours before it hits. Here the winds are at about 20mph

the field next door

at the lake during sunset. winds at 25mph

beautiful scene

the very outskirts of Ike..winds @ 30mph

night falls..Ike's arrival, winds @ 60mph, gusts up to 80mph

Aftermath of Ike...pictures at 5pm on 9-12-08

the same lake where I shot the sunset pics, except this is WAY up top. The water rose about 19 feet.

nearby brand new Elementary school: trees are permanently slanted by the winds.

on the road..one of hundreds of broken power lines

home's fence line is ripped

On my way to check Mustang Engineering main East building

corner store/Texaco...rebuilt roof top just got raped

back part of Mustang's main building

rooftop of parking garage (where my car got jacked..grrr)

trees blown..folks this tree is about 2 feet in diameter!

blown tree near the building

mustang's old "silver building"...totally raped by Ike

------------

I went through a hurricane in Florida at the age of 5, but I was too young to remember what that was like. Hurricanes are no fun. This was quite an amazing experience to be honest, but not one I'd like to go through again. I only got 2 hours of sleep, and tomorrow I'm helping Mustang out in cleaning up and getting those PC's and files cleaned up from above.

I hope everyone was ok.

Just got power back on. This storm coulda have been much worse, glad it wasn't. We had alot of tree limbs strewn about and a section of the fence taken down (that was rotted anyway), but no damage to our house. Hope everyone else fared alright.

Fucking mother nature.

The west roof of the College of Architecture...gone. It so happens that my design studio (now with a grand total of $3000 in it) is underneath that part of the school.

School's optional this week. Hopefully Schulz bangs out this Friday so that I have something to do.

just got power back like 30 min ago, I was shocked the cable was still up! We're down without power from about 3am friday night till just a lil bit ago... if anyone in the houston area needs help hit me up, we have food water, gas to cook and more importantly now that the power is on... ICEEEEEEEE.

Drawing it is the easy part. It's building it again that presents a problem.

-dinero?
-what about current classes? (cant shut down now)
-if studios are cancelled, that puts teh students way behind.
-cervezas for the mexican construction workers

nice pics Carlos. Katy got away with a slap to the wrist. Heights blv is trashed with several trees. I-10 and 45 were under water in some parts. Saw news reports of Galveston and Bolivar Peninsula which were raped.

Can't help but feel sorry for people. Especially people with little kids or pregnant women. Heard some guy looking for baby powder for his newborn on the radio.

Price gauging really pisses me off. Making money on someone else's misery is just not cool.

Yea I went to UHArch today and walked out of there pissed the hell off. My models are literally soaked.

The buildings in downtown are devastating to see. Some of those windows are completely blown out, not to mention half the roof of Minute Maid Park is gone.

Gas Pumps right now = the devil's left nut

You solved your own problem. Now just get a few vans and hit up the street corners in the heights and southwest side, as well as the parking lots of Home Depot and Lowes...and you got your workforce.

Minute mait roof is still there. Releant's roof is gone.

Im at my dads place cause he has power. my place wont have power for a few more weeks it looks like.
I will post up some pics of my place and some of the houses around here and also a marina that is by my place were there are only 2 boats still in the water. Luckly the storm surge only made it to 3 houses in the neiborhood that i know of. i have pics of 1 of them also. If the storm surge would have been another 5 feet most of my neiborhood would have been gone.

I got Power this morning at 5 am.I miss my hot showers the cold water ones sucked in this cold weather.Yea I live in the loop by shepard and I saw so much destruction by tree's and power lines. Sucks I was out of power for 5 days. Thats no joke. I would change many things for the next hurricane.
