Clothing Size Rant

Gah! I hate how clothing is sized. ESPECIALLY WOMEN'S PANTS!! Men have it so lucky, you calculate inches around waist, and calculate inches in length of your leg, and voila, your fucking pant size.

Women on the other hand... we're given bullshit imaginary numbers that don't mean shit. And the more aggravating part is, is that a pair of pants that are 28inches in leg length and another pair that is 32inches in leg length both could STILL BE FUCKING LABELED AS A 5!!! GRRR!!

Maybe it's to help women feel like they aren't fat ass cows, but I am so sick and fucking tired of having to guess what size I am and NEVER finding a pair of pants that fit me in the leg.

News flash, women who are thin are not 6 FEET FUCKING TALL!! Actually, most women who are on the thin side are probably also shorter... imagine that. Wait... where the fuck are all the 6 feet tall women anyway?!! Uhh, last I checked, average height for a woman isn't that goddamn tall!! Maybe you could make a pair of pants that can fit my waist AND my legs!! Wouldn't that be an amazing feat!

AND NOW!!! Now they are adjusting the sizes of shirts. Why? Because too many people are fucking fat asses that they have to make shirts larger and change the damn sizes. So what used to be a large is now a medium, and what used to be a small is an extra small. What the fuck is this shit?! I am not a fucking extra small!!

Oh, but what makes it more delightful is that not all stores have adopted this practice quite yet. So I go to store A, and woopty fucking doo, I fit into an extra small. But then I go to store B and like I SHOULD BE I am fitting into their mediums.

CAN WE PLEASE HAVE SOME CONSISTENCY!?!?! CAN WE PLEASE STOP WITH THE ARBITRARY NUMBERS!!!??!

Pant shopping is maddening. I hate doing it. I never find anything that fits me right. 95% of the time I have to get my pants hemmed. It's bullshit.

c0r version:

Clothing sizes are bullshit and it pisses me off.

You'd think so. In practice it varies alot with quality, who makes it and such. I have size 32 jeans and size 38 jeans. Guess which ones are wider?

How come a small tshirt costs the same as an extra large, the small uses half as much fabric?

I shop in a store that only has 32x32 in pants or 31x31 and they wont budge on making different sizes. I am 31x32 and its a pain to buy slightly larger pants than i need

but i still like their pants

So we went to lunch at a Mexican restaurant which as it happened she owned, she took me into the kitchen and showed me her stacks of handsome beige tortillas and the steam tables which were shiny-brite. I told her I wasnt very good with women and she said it didnt matter, few men were, and that nothing mattered, now that Jake was gone, but I would do as an interim project and sit down and have a Carta Blanca. So I sat down and had a cool Carta Blanca, God was standing in the basement reading the meters to see how much grace had been used up in the month of June. Grace is electricity, science has found, it is not like electricity, it is electricity and God was down in the basement reading the meters in His blue jump suit with the flashlight stuck in the back pocket.

That's what I mean... where is the damn consistency!? 38 inches is 38 inches, not 32 inches!! Why can't we just go by normal sizing instead of these ridiculous, inaccurate numbers?!

Canadian winters don't really permit that.

LOL!

Nah, I have lost a lot of weight since I have recovered from surgery. However, I will admit that for a while there I was getting a little soft.

I am quite thin, and fit into a size 0-5 (depending on the make of course), but the legs are always way, way too long because I am only 5'2"!

The only time I have found a pair of pants that have fit me properly was in the children's section, size 16! It's just a shame that half the time, their clothes have frilly and/or lame shit on them. Not to mention, it is borderline embarrassing to shop in the kids section. LOL!!

Yeah I've developed a sweet eating disorder, I've lost 11 lbs in a week and a half!

if you are big the size on the tag doesn't change the facts. i hate that companies try to trick women into thinking they are thinner than they really are.

It really doesn't help with the obesity problem. Instead of owning up to the reality of the situation, let's cover it up by changing the clothing sizes... no one will know any better.

Grr!

Narcism, as I mentioned, I have to hem almost every pair of pants that I buy. However, that in itself is really frustrating. Not only do I have to pay to buy the pants, I have to pay to get them altered, and I have to spend an extra day to go back to the hemming place and have them shorten it.

It's a pain in the ass. Why can't there just be pants that fit?!

No, I am lame like that.

How do you get the proper length without trying them on and measuring? AND I don't have a sewing machine, so I would have to do it by hand, which I suck at...

It would take me more time, and more money to buy replacement pants for the ones I fucked up than if I had just went to get them hemmed somewhere professional. LOL!
