Read This! Future Music: June Issue: Euphoric Trance Special

Hi guys..

Just picked up my new copy of Future Music over here (UK), and the main feature of the mag is "DIY Euphoria - complete guide to constructing your own euphoric trance". Also included on the CD is 300 samples of Beats,Loops,Basslines,Leads,Hits and Effects, to get started hehe. As im new to producing the tutorials are really helping, and I hope fellow TA's will find it to

PS Interviews with John 00 Fleming, Ian Van Dahl etc

Peace

Too bad we don't have that magazine here in Finland It sound quite interesting... that tutorial would be real help! Euphoric trance tutorial, wow

Posted by Mr.Mystery on May-28-2002 22:36:

Yes we do, Joi

Kyll m viimevuonna ostin yhden Future Musicin stadin Suomalaisesta Kirjakaupasta ...
Saattaa vaan tulla pienell viiveell

Dunno I thought the article was pretty poor, but the interview with john 00 was interesting and so was ian van dahl, a bit.

Now the competition, thats a bit more like it.

How bad is the demo song

Was that tutorial for euphoric trance any good? and how about those samples on the cd?

Sorry...Now I will write something else than English...

Mystery, onks se pahan hintanen? Vai ett Suomalaisesta kirjakaupasta...Hmm, pitps kyd kattoon!

Posted by flutlicht junky on May-29-2002 09:23:

Sorry i didnt make myself clear, the tutorial was good, its just i knew alot of it already, I was just hoping for more technical detail. For a begineer its would be very useful.

I found thej00f one very good cos he talked about how he got his sounds.

Samples are ok, liked the single ones more, the arppegios where not necessary, with a little effort you could do the same.

Wait for my site to be up and running properly, ill be adding loads of good copyrighted/ copyright free samples!!

Posted by Joi Lamusic on May-29-2002 09:37:

Flutlicht, I hope U get your site up soon . Can't wait those free samples

Yeah the Tutorials will help the aspiring beginner, but for an amateur producer these tips are quite obvious.

As for the comp, I might enter it as a Roland SH-32 is up 4 grabs

i dont know about you, but I find the price of fm totally RIDICULOUS!, especially in NA.. I read it monthly at the magasine vendor, but I wont spend the ~20$cdn for it..

It would be cool to have free euphoric trance-tutorial

Posted by Shoes on Jun-12-2002 11:11:

The mag is okay, the disk is dissapointing. Apart from some neat FX, and some cool drum hits, everything else is a bit shit. I want string samples!

Posted by Joi Lamusic on Jun-12-2002 17:37:

Ooooh... Give me some links

Posted by fieroavian on Jun-21-2002 10:01:

doesn't Chapters or Indigo carry Future Music?

Moonman, thanx...really.... I was looking for samples tho..and I'm really intersted in what John 00 Fleming says...I'll buy that as soon as possible...I love Trance....

The Tutorial is usefull, some good tricks in it and the equipment lists and the interview with John 00 flemming and ian van dahl is interesting. But I still wonder what on earth Dave Pearce is doing in the article Did he ever produce something? I don't know any song he produced and didn't hear good comments on his mixing skills some time ago. And he doesn't seem to have any nice hardware too. Only 2 sl1200's and a pathetic dj mixer that most of us started off with 5 years ago . If he gets in there I think everybody who is dj and produces some trance should be in it too.

ok, bought that issue of Future Music last sunday at Chapters. if you want i can post that 6-page "DIY euphoria" tutorial here, or at least make it elsewhere and link to it. ahead are some teasers...

quote:
"depending on the style of kick and snare, both attack and release settings can also make a significant difference to the resulting sound."

quote:
"a popular method for constructing a bass is to start with either a sawtooth or square oscillator. set the envelope to a zero attack, short release and medium decay and sustain."

quote:
"it's not a good idea to widen a pad's timbre with effects. once programmed, leave it as is until mixing, then experiment with effects if needed."

quote:
"usually euphoric leads consist of a chord that's been created from two of more programmed synths; this is then sampled and the results are effected."

the author also picked 10 of his favourite euphoric tunes too:

quote:
Binary Finary - 1999 (Matt Darey remix)
Faithless - Insomnia
Josh Wink - Higher State of Consciousness
Delerium - Silence (Transcendental remix)
System F - Out of the Blue
Chakra - Home
ThrillSeekers - Synthaesia
Vincent De Moor: Fly Away
Rank 1 - Airwave
Sasha - Xpander

bleh.. enough for this quoting craziness.
