Dubfire vs D. Ramirez

grindhouse ( planet terror remix) vs shield (D. Ramirez B Movie Remix)

too close for comfort

i'll have to hear shield first.
unless its the song i heard a few times on the weekend with the loud scream in it?

if so then i disagree. While it reminded of grindhouse from a "fear" aspect, it was still its own song.

guess i'll know better when i hear it again.

not quite sure theres such a big screamm in it...but the songs are so similar...shield is a wicked tune tho ill still have to admit....well this remix i mentioned anyways

I don't know what the story is behind these tracks but I know they share more than couple of samples. For me shield doesn't even come close to grindhouse, I actually find shield quiet cheesy, the moog synth that gets introduced in the break down is too basic in sound design and very random in melody. Grindhouse on the other hand is a bit more sophisticated, a true classic.

wow shield is just a copy of grindhouse, how original...

Posted by Yohan on Sep-16-2008 01:41:

man. shield is damn annoying, esp. that one loop that sounds like cat dying

Posted by samhouse on Sep-16-2008 04:36:

hmmmm...

ok so now i've heard shield. its not what i thought it was originally.
gotta say thats tight :/ quite disappointed in ramirez actually. its quite clear where his inspiration for this track has come from. its a lil too close though.

still gonna buy it and probably play it

it's obvious that the "sheild" quote in this is like the "hah!" in grindhouse. The beat is way too similer, although I have to admit it's more tougher in this version. The only original thing is the melody. Tha cat screeching noise is like that siren from Grindhouse

This is basically Grindhouse with a melody attached to it. Pure guilty pleasure track.
