What is fun to do in Ottawa?

I have never been to Ottawa, and I don't know anything about the city. What is fun to do whilst visiting Ottawa? Any places that are a "must see"?

Tell me all the good things to do while I am there!!

The parks downtown, there is also a boat tour on the river with a gorgeous view on the Parliament. The Chateau Laurier, Sparks street, the Art Gallery, The Museum of Civilization, The Canal...

The nightlife... well... downtown is crowded with pubs and bars but nothing compared to Toronto or Montreal.

When visiting Ottawa, go in front of the Parlement.
Make a 360 turn to view whats around you.

Congratulations ! You've seen Ottawa ! You can now go back from where you come from.

lol, so true. All the landmarks zeKsg listed are all within a two mile radius almost.. and some of them are overrated, imo. Beyond that it's all strip malls, big box stores and an arena that should have its own area code, pretty much.

Check out xvi.com (nightlife section) if you want some Ottawa edm.

I've been to Ottawa many times in my life, and each time it was basically to go to National Gallery of Civilisation museum....

I think Ottawa closes at 8pm though.

Well there is Clarence Street, and there are a few pubs/resturant-bars-cafes there. Lots of people from the University I go to prefer to go to Stella/Mambo/Touche/Cornerstone....

Theresa, if you're going to Ottawa you might as well come visit Montreal..it's very close and there are actually things to do and see here .. as opposed to Ottawank.

Ottawa...fun...i dont see how these two words can be on the same page except in this sentence "Lets make fun of Ottawa"

Jokes aside, ottawa's fun drunk,so you need a place to sit and drink

I dont know how it is now, but i use to go to Helsinki, it was decent, they use to get good names, not superstars, you'll probably get to serve your own drinks. People already gave you good spots such as Blue Cactus (nice place to sit, chill, take a drink...fall asleep hehehe) and of course The market. Worst case just go along Elgin and try to find some spots (think the market is on elgin,or Bank dont remember well).

Last time i went, before i went into a deep Coma, i went to a place where the dude was spinning some good deep house and some classic hip hop tracks, more a lounge/bar/restaurant then a club, ill try to come up with the name...ok i did my part in trying to save ottawa, go to parliament hill and sit there for a whole day, this will be plenty entertainment.
