best designed label web sites

i'm trying to compile a list of dance music record label web sites that have both good and bad design (layout, colors, usability, etc) and i was just curious if any of you have specific favorites.

i'm finding plenty of examples of bad design... not much good.

i love the seizures the flash induces.

I like the Pharmacy and Intuition websites, very clean-cut. The Pharmacy site is Flash-based, and the Intuition site is HTML.

HTML > Flash

I usually cant stand all-flash-based websites.

although this is more my kinda design:

simple yet good looking and really easy to navigate

flash looks better in my opinion. but not as 'functional' for say search engine optimisation. bots cant search the code, record link clicks.

always liked sander van doorns site =)

I don't know if he's still got it but speedy j's web site used to be the worst one ever.

As for the best - I really don't know, maybe wagon repair or something.

i liked that

Not bad at all.

Not a label, but Luke Fair's rules!

edit: Eric Prydz's and Axwell's are also awesome. Axwell's intro and Danny Howells' site suck though.

Autoplaying music = utter turd.

nothing like hearing a way too loud track hijack what you are listening to.

This is true. It's a minor step up from the early days of the internet when people had MIDIs playing on their personal pages, but still bad form.

Posted by Zak McKracken on Sep-23-2008 19:03:

i might fix it then lol, never thought of it really except when i open multiple myspaces. that used to crash my old computer.

Posted by airwalker1 on Sep-23-2008 19:32:

clean fresh and simple like track it down.

Intuition Recordings is the best one I've seen posted to this thread. Most label web sites look like they're from 2002 or something. This one is pretty modern and takes advantage of some of the newer developments in the world of web design.

Flash is a big no-no for me. Google won't index it and you can't expect everyone to want to wait around for some clunky interface to load. Automatically playing music equals instant death. There are, no doubt, some viable applications for Flash (I use a limited amount on my site to stream MP3s), but if you seek to generate traffic and tie your web site in to the growing social media revolution, I'd say it is the wrong choice every time. But hey, feel free to disagree with me.

For the record, here is the web site for my label:
