16 Bit Lolitas - Warung Beach Comp (2cd)

Warung Beach Club releases its oficial series of cds in a partnership with the labels Hope and ST2. The first volume, WARUNG BRASIL 001, with a set mixed by the dutch duo 16 Bit Lolitas, has just come out in Europe, drawing compliments from the specialized press. The CD is expected to have its brazilian release until November, through the label ST2. Hope Recordings will be in charge of the simultanious worldwide distribution.

WARUNG BRASIL 001 is a double lbum. CD1 is a compilation of severall producers, while CD2 brings exclusive music from 16 Bit Lolitas, a duo made up by Ariaan Olieroock and Peter Kriek. Among other artists that have had songs included are Sharam Jay, Spirit Catcher and D-Nox & Beckers, among others.

Meeting the expectations of Warung, the choice of 16 Bit was perfect. The magic of Warungs nights, with its unique atmosphere, are more than well portrayed in this album.

+1, I haven't seen many recorded sets by them posted. And whenever they do surface it's only a 30 minute recording tops.

I WILL HAVE SEX WITH ALL THIS TRACKS

Looking forward to checking out the 16bit productions. Don't play this stuff out much any more but always been a big fan of theirs.

hopefully there are some good tracks on here, their newer shit isn't half as good as what they used to do (chuck nology, sedna, etc.) in any case, i'll anxiously await this and def give it a fair chance!

Heard this yesterday. Not what I would have expected from them but it is a solid comp nonetheless...Surprisingly, it's more techy and less of the dark, chunky stuff they were still playing the last time I heard a set of theirs.

Disc 1, while not mindblowing is a fairly solid effort. Disc 2 is where the shit is though. The new 16BL tracks are very nice and very diverse, although they lack the explosiveness of let's say "Passing Lights", "Sedna", or "Neptune".

is it really that much of a surprise?

I had hoped they didn't jump on the bandwagon, lol

I don't think it's bandwagonish at all. It's very much what i expected and i like it a lot. CD2 in particular is awesome. These guys are probably my favorite modern progressive house act.

Yet, there is so little on the first CD that says "progressive house".

Figured there was already a thread on this. Got the compilation today and I must say, it delivers. God I love their productions. And now their compilation too. I'm so going to hammer these.

Plus, I get to see them in 2 days for a nice 2 hour set. I'm excited as hell!

Yes, it leans quite heavily in the tech-house direction, or whatever you wanna call it. But i was refering to their own productions.

I thoroughly enjoyed both disks. Decent mix and productions.
