How often do you get sick?
How often do you get sick? And what are you usually sick with?
For me, it's been WAY too often as of late.. I'm getting over a really bad throat infection that has put me out of commission and unable to attend classes since last Friday. Before this, I had other throat BS late August & had to miss a gig...

I'm thinking of going to see a naturopath soon.
Last time I got sick was a week or two ago and I had a fever (which is pretty rare for me). The last time I was reeeeeeeeally sick was last winter. I had a horrible cold/sinus infection and had to go to the hospital twice because of it. It seems that whenever I get a cold, it lasts quite a while.
Ps. I suggest that you invest in some Oil of Oregano. It's expensive and tastes 100 times worse than Buckleys, but it will probably cure your throat infection in no time.
Not often. Every winter I'll usually get sick at some point, but I'd be surprised if it happened during warm weather.
I tend to get sick and then be sick for a while cause I'm against medicine. I usually let my body fight it for a long while then finally give up and just hammer it with medicine when I get too sick of being sick all the time.
I used to get sick a lot when I was little tho. But that's kinda understandable - I was in St. Petersburg.
To actually take a sick day? Once every two years. To where I just feel under the weather? once/twice a year.
For those who get sick all the time, do you use a lot of disinfectants?
I know I loved riding the subway because it really helped build my immune system. Hell I would licked a hand rail if it wasn't so mentally disturbing. Exposure is the key to a good healthy immune system.
Less than once a year...and if anything it always starts with some type of nasal irritation/sinuses.
But i'm very lucky in that i honestly almost never get sick
I've noticed that since I don't go to clubs as ofter anymore I don't get sick as often.
Twice a year.
Once in March-April
Second October-November
It's a guranteed thing with me. Don't know why. On both occasions it's chest infection. And i also have a set course of medicine. 21 day course of antibiotics.
I can tell a fever coming on when I get light headed and very weak. Trying to use stuff like Cold-Effects helps when you have to be somewhere.
I also have acid reflux which is killing my throat.. naturopath is a good idea and its covered under my benefits.. I also heard about this wedge pillow thing you put under your sheets so that you sleep on a slight incline so that your esophagus closes properly.
anyone else with acid reflux?

get enough sleep every night, dress properly and eat your fruits and vegetables and you will never get sick.

| Alternative Remedy May Help Battle Influenza Tuesday September 16, 2008 CityNews.ca Staff For years, a certain loudmouthed former hockey coach has been especially vocal about one thing - and no, it isn't the Europeans. Don Cherry has been a long-time pitchman for Cold-FX, extolling the virtues of the ginseng-based alternative remedy since 2004. It's worked for him, and now, the science appears to back up his claims. Seniors who had already been inoculated with the flu shot seemed to benefit by taking the cold fighter. The three-year double-blind study showed that trial participants who took Cold-FX were about one-third less likely to get a "Jackson" cold or flu. That's huge in a country where upper respiratory infections affect about 25 per cent of the population. The research was led by Dr. Gerald Predy, Medical Officer of Health for Alberta Health Services, and you can find out more on it here. "One of the key things here is that it's been approved by Health Canada," explains CityNews Medical Specialist Dr Karl Kabasele. "[Health Canada] also agrees with the product manufacturer's assertion that this will help to prevent colds and also to reduce their length and severity," he added. |
