Arguably the best show on tv is back tonight...The Office Season 5
It's back tonight and I couldn't be happier!!

Hmmm...I argue that the best show on tv is the Office (UK version).
But, I like this version too (I love watching Dwight at his finest)!
Don't know if I should watch the premiere though. I haven't watched Season 4 yet!

Couldn't agree with you more.. it's a tragedy that they only did 12 episodes on and a special Ricky Gervais is my hero.
The U.S. counterpart has kept me quite entertained, however. I'm really looking forward to the start of Season 5 tonight. You should really watch Season 4 asap. Ryan coked out is hilarious.

I actually find the American version much funnier. Its just more well done. Better characters, better jokes, more developed plot..

This person is wise
The British version was scene after scene of brilliance. The US version is pretty funny but some scenes/jokes are a bit dragged out. But its given considering the amount of episodes that they are pushing out compared to the UK one. In any case, definitely looking forward to the rest of this season

The reason I liked the UK version more than the US one is because it highlighted some really awkward (and embarassingly funny) moments at the office that I felt was something that some of us could relate to on a daily basis. The UK cast did a really good job in portraying this really well (obv. Ricky Gervais did an amazing job). I appreciated that fact that the UK version stuck to the documentary format throughout the series, whereas the US one kind of deviated from it at times.
Tim + Dawn >>>>>>> Jim + Pam (but that's my opinion)
Anyway, I watched the premiere. Damn, I gotta get myself caught up this weekend with the episodes I missed (i.e. last season)! Posted by NuERA on Sep-26-2008 14:05:

Totally agreed. THE UK one seems much more realistic and way more awkward and uncomfortable to watch. I've had a friend tell me to turn it off during a scene because he was so uncomfortable watching it (didn't hurt that he was high at the time). It's much more quiet and raw which adds to the realism. It actually feels like a documentary is taking place
The US one is funnier and more zany. It's kind of like a cartoon at times due to Carrell's antics. I think it has to be this way because some (or most) American's don't have the patience to appreciate the style of the slower paced UK version.
