I am especially looking forward to Carl Cox, Damian Lazarus, Danny Howells, and Peace Division. I am definitely excited about the things to come!

Dude, I was just looking around yesterday and saw that there were a ton of events coming up. There are a bunch of good events coming up that i'll try to make. UNforuantely, Fall is really busy for work, so getting out can be tough.

I'm more of a trance guy so, i'd like to check out Matt Darey, but does anyone have any reviews/insight with regards to Kaskade? anyone seen him live? is he worth going to see?

I'd like to see Cox again, but I really cant do middle of the week shows.

Kaskade has been more electroey the last times I've seen him vs. the really deep house stuff that he used to produce/spin. Lazarus and Howells will be amazing in Rise man. You should go.

Boston lounges?

Since there aren't many threads for Boston I figurd I'd ask on here. I'm new to Boston and am trying to find some cool lounges that play EDM. Not opposed to clubs for the right DJ but looking more a slightly older crowd where you can go with friends to just relax and dance a bit. If anyone has any suggestions it would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Mantra
Underbar
Rumor
the Estate

Then there's of course the best one of them all, Rise, which operates after hours and attracts the big name bookings.

If you just want to chill out, try the Enormous Room in Cambridge. Its location is a bit obscure so you may have some trouble finding it. You can also try the Phoenix Landing which is also in Cambridge. I have never been there so I do not know what the atmosphere is like.

i play every thursday night at OM lounge in harvard square. it's an older crowd for that area of town... lots of after-works, internationals, grad students and other academics. i try to keep it deep at first, then find a balance between proper underground sounds and more accessible commercial beats.

good drinks and no cover!

I know House of Blues books big name dj acts in other cities so hopefully we AT LEAST get that here. My hope would be something similar to Avalon's friday nights but that might just be wishful thinking.

Posted by Greggy4202k on Dec-15-2008 15:32:

Ya, I think that is a bit of wishful thinking pat. I think that House of Blues will prob pull some of the big name DJ's once in a while, but I expect it to be more of a rock/hip-hop club. But whatever, i'll take what i can get

The House of Blues has booked Danny Howells, Sasha, and Digweed before in other cities so fingers crossed.

looks like an avalon-type concert lineup to me from what i could find so far...

http://www.aceticket.com/house-of-b...ton-schedule/ma

http://www.hob.com/venues/clubvenues/boston/

so maybe w/ that being said, it will open up after the concerts are over for some dance events? - but for some reason, i'm doubting it only because i don't think boston can get that lucky

Posted by Greggy4202k on Dec-15-2008 17:38:

avalon used to have concerts earlier on friday and saturdays and then would have club nights after. i remember seeing Armin play in the fall a few years back and having to wait in line outside in the rain for like an hour cause they were clearing out the concert equip...

yah, HOB has booked some good acts all over the country...so hopefully they can bring that to boston. Also, i guess a lot of it depends on who the booking agent is for the club. Any one know who does it for Estate? Didnt they used to do it for avalon?
